One of my favorite memes of all time, as it sums this place up so well. DIG.

What I’m having trouble with is that I try and keep an open mind to many things including conspiracy theories but I also don’t jump to wild conclusions when more reasonable answers are available. Many/most conspiracy theories are later proven wrong. I remember specifically in the Obama era when everyone was going on about fema camps and them ordering millions of body bags and other such stuff. So many other examples.
It seems like the vast majority of people either believe zero conspiracy theories or believe every conspiracy theory no matter how absurd. I always feel so alone for trying to consider things rationally and keeping an open mind while not believing everything I hear
Just venting I guess
I like the part where FEMA deputy administrator Richard Serino played the role of incident commander during the Boston Marathon Bombing mass casualty drill
Well I’d need more info to form an opinion but wouldn’t it make sense that a higher up in fema would play a role in a drill like that?
With that being said, you said something months ago about vaccines and sids that piqued my interest. Can’t remember what it was exactly. I asked you for some sources to get started to which you didn’t respond but I searched a bit and now am fairly convinced that vaccines do at least play a part in sids occurrences.
The problem for me is that it’s hard to find info where people have gathered all the necessary data. Different countries and how their vaccine schedules vary and how their sids rates vary. It’s weird to me that nobody has compiled this data, it’s a lot of work so I don’t have the time really but I’m surprised that I can’t find it. Of course “they” do a good job of suppressing info they don’t want you to know
It's smart to be skeptical of everything you hear, mainstream news or wild conspiracies.
The hard part is discerning what theories are worth actually looking into. For example; Covid vax is a conspiracy to make Big Pharma billions? Sure. Covid vax is a conspiracy to implant the mark of the beast into your arm? Probably not
Clear thinking and valid, consistent research skills are much needed, even in this community. The methods of logic and inference are all over the map at times.
Here's how I prefer it all to be categorized:
SPECULATION
To form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence. If you speculate about something, you make guesses about its nature or identity, or about what might happen or happened.
HYPOTHESIS
An assumption made before any research is done. It is formed so that it can be tested to see if it is true.
THEORY
A principle formed to explain the things already shown in the data. Because of the rigors of experiment and control, it is much more likely that a theory will be true vs a hypothesis.
The one major pitfall folks fall into is thinking they are forming a theory because they think they have real world data, which ends up being a photo, a quote, or a video clip. But that does not constitute data, it constitutes items of perception that lacking context or repeatability, cannot really serve to test or support theory.
You learned almost exclusively lies wrapped in changeable facts.
Love this.

Top kek
Good one.
Conspiracy analysts
😆 Top pic is me as a kid. More than once I tried to dig a hole to China. I wasn’t dumb but my people didn’t lie to me either. So if they keep telling us “You are going to dig hole to China” I was gonna give it my best effort. I was better at mud pies🤷🏼♀️
Lemme get one of them mole machines.
