hopefully he means big pharma, i smoke weed (like the founding fathers) and i'm not amused by this statement
Agreed, but as far as I know, there is no evidence the founding fathers smoked cannabis.
The type of cannabis sativa they raised was industrial hemp.
If I'm mistaken, I'd love to see the evidence. Would twist up a tasty toasty one in celebration if true!

Cheq it:
Did they actually smoke?
Nearly impossible to prove, but such fun to speculate about, the smoking habits of the founding fathers will likely remain a secret lost in time. Thomas Jefferson is known to have imported seeds from Asia and it is easy to presume that he was aware of the hemp culture there, which is believed to be the place of origin of cannabis.
According to Dr. Burke, who was the President of the American Historical Reference Society, “Early letters from our founding fathers refer to the pleasures of hemp smoking,”. Burke also listed seven of the earliest Presidents of the United States as hemp smokers: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Zachary Taylor and Franklin Pierce.

[This single, quickly found article doesn't constitute proof of what it claims, of course...it just gives a name with a Dr. in front of it who supposedly was the head of an official-sounding organizational name; and alleges seven US presidents smoked hemp.]
Yeah, But Did They Get High?
Here's the deep dive:
https://hightimes.com/culture/flying-founding-fathers/
"Anyone who has ever farmed cannabis knows that just being around the plants can sometimes be intoxicating. From that point of view it’s difficult to imagine that the colonists didn’t know about getting high. Not necessarily from smoking—there is simply no literature at all to suggest that cannabis was in any way smoked by the colonists. On the other hand, Marcandier’s Treatise on Hemp, published in Boston in 1766, says that tea and wine made from cannabis were intoxicants, and that even when used externally as poultices, the odor was so strong it not only numbed but intoxicated.
"The other side: 1) The cannabis was grown for fibre, not narcotic in this country; 2) Alcohol was the drug of the day, supplemented by legal, available opiates, as well as tobacco."
BTW just for fun
In parts of Mexico this is called potiguaya, potaguaya, or potación de guaya (grief potion); used for stress relief
Shortening of 'potion' → 'pot'

Yeah somehow I don’t think he’s talking about the potheads. 👀 Don’t worry
when he says 'other countries dont have a drug problem' he means muslim countries like singapore, where not only marijuana is illegal, but also tobacco and alcohol. so yeah, im a little apprehensive.
just skeptical, as always. I would have to think it was possible to vote your way out of communism to be paranoid about anything trump says.
The guy who made hemp federally legal? No, he's not talking about pot. Hes smart and wise enough to know it doest kill people.
This anon gets it
Too many benefits of medicinal cannabis to assume that it's grouped together with Big Pharma drugs and crack/coke/meth/etc.
This is just another wait and see deal, but I don't think they'd make pot or pot dealing illegal. Just my hunch.
He said drug dealers not pot heads
the statement was very vague and open for interpretation. weed might be legal in your state, but its not here. so the people i buy from would be considered drug dealers.
Exactly. Not amused at all. Plants are gifts from God. They have helped me heal in ways pharmaceuticals could never do.
If it helps Trump did pardon a bunch of people that were jailed for non violent pot offenses as they often got some insane sentences which made no sense.
Trumps Pot Pardons
CIA and Bush
Define drug dealer. Is it the guy who sells you crack, or the guy who sells you horse paste or HCQ?
I hope it's not for selling crack. If we're going to destroy the whole illegal drug trade, we need to get the people who are bringing it in by the ton. The whole war on drugs was a joke. They never cut the head off the snake, but rather imprisoned the small fries at the bottom. The prison lobby is strong, and they were rewarded greatly by scum like Biden. Stop targeting the poor and actually go after the suppliers. Then maybe help the poor with opportunities other than low level crack dealer.
I'll get flamed, but...
Dope dealers no
Child traffickers yes
Reasoning: Preserve death penalty for the worst of the worst heinous crimes
Selling drugs, especially addictive ones, is bad. Using logic stripped of emotion, however, selling products to adults who want them and freely (even if stupidly) choose to put them in their own bodies IMHO doesn't rise to the level of badness of raping children, selling them, torturing and killing them, etc.
If you don't have the right to decide what goes in your own body, then you wouldn't be able to stand firm and reject the fake vaccine and remain a freeblood.
But you DO have the God-given natural human right to reject the vaccine and remain a freeblood. So you therefore also have the God-given natural human right to choose to put other chemicals into your body. That is a vice, not a crime committed against another person.
If someone wants to kill their body, with drugs or some other way, they are at liberty (i.e., personal freedom) to do so. They should be talked out of it, but it's a vice, not a crime. They are causing HARM (different from sadness or upset) to no one but themselves.
To the religious, suicide is also a sin. The reckoning for the sin aspect of the act is between the person and their God.
In either case, religious or not, government is excluded from the discussion. To a free American national, or a person thinking like one, the individual is the sole sovereign owner of their physical body. So, no government has any legitimate right to force a human to put substances into or prevent substances from going into their own body.
No government has any legitimate right to curb vices, only crime. This isn't China. We don't do social credit scores here.
Freedom has to work both ways.
100%, everything you said. More harm reduction resources is the way to go imo, not force and certainly not killing people for selling drugs.
I would be angrier but really this is the first time I can remember disagreeing with Trump on anything in a long time.
It should start with the C_A and FDA.
For a proper war on drugs you need to tackle it from the TOP guys down, not the little guy on the street, they are just useful idiots who are just replaced in a heartbeat. In the past, that has how any of it has been done (and I am sure it was set up to fail on purpose). If you or anyone you know "sells drugs" I am sure that, that statement out of him is scary. I agree with "Define drugs" though, for me, anything synthetic "cooked up in a lab" to poison the population with addiction needs to be gone off the planet. I do not smoke Pot even but, have used some CBD products and know many who smoke Pot on daily basis, do not think I would want still developing children smoking it but, adults should be able to adult on it. Pot is not something that makes people mental and non functional with many physical complications imo.
They need to feed the Prison Industrial Complex.
First fix the health care system then talk to me about drug dealer.
Because right now doctors and pharma wont give to ill people appropriate working medicine and pain killer. Being ill/in pain and dependant on useless doctor is not fun.
I don't know what ghoul would downvote this. Have an upvote to counter!
Heron and fenny dealers sure. All other dealers. Nahhhhhh brahhhhh
Nice.
Hope you didn’t think I was trying to pass off a comedy film skit as a legit source.
The countries that don't have a drug problem are the ones that legalized them. Looking at you, Portugal.
Legalise the no big deal drugs THEN punish drug dealers. Definition is most important when it comes to life and death
Yes! Put big pharma in that hot seat!!!
How about Hunter always seen with crack?
GD the Pusherman!
absolutely deserved, they've ruined so many lives!
Not gonna lie. I've been smoking weed as true copium for a decade. If it means dope dealers die I would gladly never smoke again.
concur
As much as I would like to see the long list of names on my shit list executed… after living through government’s abuse of powers for the past two years, sentencing people to death is not something I would trust to the people in charge.
