I find the simplest explanation is: Democracy = rule by Democrats. It explains everything right out in the open.
I always read it as Democracy = Socialism.
People make that association, but socialism is an economic scheme, and democracy is a governance scheme, so they are not quite the same thing. In bald terms, one might easily say: democracy = mob rule.
This is truncated in modern times by the Democrats, who claim they are the "voice of the people," and therefore get to rule. This traces back to the Bolsheviks.

Democracy is a codeword for the deep states "Rules based order", where they make up their own rules on the fly, to suit whatever situation they are addressing.
It's yet another established concept that has become corrupted.

I did. In Greek it just means people. Maybe you’re thinking of daemos. Socrates mentions having an inner voice he called his “daemos” that supposedly corrected his thinking.
I’m Orthodox. I believe in demons. I believe they actively participate in undoing humans. I’m just careful about pointing out specific persons as possessed, as that’s an accusation, and “satan” means “the accuser” in Hebrew. I don’t want to emulate him in any way if I can help it.

I’m also kind of a old slacker, and thus have lost the thread of what point was being made. If it’s a matter of opinion let’s agree ataraxia is the best policy, but if it’s an important insight, which in my own case is not unheard of, I’ll relish the delectable factoid and use it frequently as a tribute to this exchange, good sir.
