He filed for a religious exemption to the ordinance that would have allowed him to play without getting vaccinated, but he was denied.
Wiggins eventually decided to get the vaccine in October, but he said at the time he felt “forced” to do so in order to play, the Post reported.
“But for my body, I just don’t like putting all that stuff in my body, so I didn’t, I didn’t like that, and I didn’t like that it wasn’t my choice. I didn’t like that it was either get this or don’t play.”
The Players Union is supposed to be representing you.
They are extremely well paid... so where the hell were they in all of this? They should have demanded that the NBA allow the players to choose whether or not to accept an 'experimental vaccination' that wasn't proven to be safe or effective.
Just like every other union in the country... they failed.
Yep -- unions once served a purpose, but now they're just bloated bureaucracies with nothing to do.
My experience (mostly indirect) with unions is they operate like independent self serving racket, similar to police.

It still was your choice. Future NBA players need their contracts to explicitly dictate that the League is not their personal physician and as such are not able to prescribe medical interventions.
