I do a proverbial cannonball on their prickly reality and enjoy it.
My fellow conservative friends don't enjoy it and get frustrated then lose their tact with smarmy libs.
I strive to learn how to disarm their snidely demeanor.
I've tried many ways and what seems to work with most, especially one-on-one; be cordial and genuinely serious. Yes, in spite of their snotty attitudes. Be honest when you don't have enough information.
Don't even get on their level, at all. Stay cordial and stern the entire time. They often find themselves meek at the end.
I feel some personal growth from doing this constantly.
It's suffocating being around liberals. They don't view you as human if you think differently from them. Better to be lonely than surround yourself with people who make you feel lonely.
Back in 2020 I posted a photo of a flier for “National burn your mask day” on a social media site (Strava) that is for fitness lifestyle people, it’s not a site where people discuss current events.
A lib (university professor) acquaintance left a comment that said “Let’s leave politics off Strava”.
So I replied “Who said anything about politics? I thought masks were about health. Are you implying that masks are actually about politics?”
He didn’t reply, and I have seen or heard from him in almost two years.
I lost some left wing friends after I said I don't believe the earnings gap between men and women is due to some chauvinistic conspiracy but rather is the result of hundreds of millions of people making different life choices.
lol saw this headline and thought the same thing before clicking in. My elderly parents are very distressed that I don't talk to childhood friends that are Liberals.
This is a war. We fight it for our children and our grandchildren. I don't have the time to make small talk with those who actively work to destroy the Republic.
Yup, the topic of vaccines never came up with my former pals. I'm sure when Trump gets back into office they will be so weakened from the jabs that they won't have much energy to argue much about him or anything else. They were so vehemently against Trump that we parted company. I heard through the grapevine they were getting shots soon as they came out. Wife and I are pure blood and we feel great. No need to go back and revisit old arguments. I'm much better off doing research and finding out the truth than wasting time arguing with brainwashed people. Onward and upward.
I started defriending a bunch on FB when the abortion arguments were everywhere last month. I never debated them, just watched…i have a much more pleasant feed now.
I shut down my facebook in 2017 because I couldnt stop the odious virtue signalling from my old lefty liberal friends. So annoying to sit and read about how holy and righteous they were whenever it came to the orange man
