I’m stickying this because this is important politically for all of our newly elected rookie politicians to understand. You use your power per the Constitution, and legally as in law. We are a nation of laws, not a nation of BS just to do things because we think we can, when it breaches Constitutional rights. This is a prime example of how DeSantis is correcting BS by using proper Rule of established Law.
Great sticky decision. These are the type of things that we need to be watching. Tyranny will die by a thousand cuts.
They will always try to get away with what they can. All patriots have to do is make sure they can't.
I love our governor. Please don't steal him for national politics. The line needs to be held in Florida, as it does in other states with sensible leadership.
The power of the people will come when the states take back their power from the federal government. DeSantis is a really important guy as Governor of the state that freedom loving people are fleeing to. The "laboratories of democracy" shine a light on what works and what doesn't. Florida is working big time.
Well said.
I am determined to see Florida stay red forever, but not necessarily Republican red, which is often more of a pink or sickly mauve. I want it to be patriot red, and all those who stand guard over freedom here share the same vision.
Paypal got Disney'd.
Hold on, PayPal's a bit too old for Disney
I think states should enact a rule that 100,000 Dollar fee to operate in the state whenever a resident of the state is denied financial services without first asking the court for permission. I also think that whoever is denied access should be able to sue for damages
now do that for Rippa and his comics money
This is why I'm more of a conservative as opposed to libertarian, although I think conservatives and libertarians make good allies. I just think in cases like these, conservative oversight is needed to protect individual rights from other private entities that would interfere in those rights. The left has figured out that they can bypass the Constitution by monopolizing areas of the service industry and the deny those services to those whose views they'd not approve of.
That deserves a Pepe Nuke!

PayPal and many other payment companies need to be licensed in almost every state they operate in. Those states have huge power to audit and influence how they operate. The Red states need to work together and create a set of standards to apply in these audits which prohibit their bullshit.
Losing a license for Florida, Texas or any other state would be a major catastrophe for PayPal. That is the pressure point.
Well disney didn't fair well paypal has no chamce
So if the banks started blocking lefties, no one would care?
I support what he's doing, but it grates on me that he refers to it as 'woke banking' instead of illegal censorship.
They should block leftists.
If you don't actively make your institution into a right-wing echo chamber, it WILL become a left-wing echo chamber.
Because leftists scream louder.
