Doesn't need to be self driving, FYI. Any remotely modern car will have electronic power steering that is controlled by the ECU. The same with brakes and throttle.

Biggest difference between then and now? Proliferation of WiFi and Cellular in our vehicles. Those hacks were done locally with a laptop. Now our cars are "online".

Self driving cars don't really exist currently, despite what they call them officially. When the person in the driver seat still has to be actively watching and monitoring the car every single second of the ride, the car isn't driving, the person behind the wheel is. I've rarely if ever seen a "self-driving" crash that wasn't neglect on the actual driver's part.

EDIT: After going through this dive I still feel like she was pretty low level for this (1 of 20 cosponsors). It'd be pretty obvious if all 20 cosponsors and Newhouse were taken out over this bill. Motive seems unlikely now.

I grew up near where this crash happened. It's all corn fields and nothing. My cousin died in a collision near there in his Mustang about 20 years ago. Accidents aren't super common right there, but they happen once in a while.
WaPo is a CIA psyop and this fact has been proven since by Watergate, where two known intel operatives with little actual journalism to their names suddenly became ace "investigative reporters" with unlimited insider sources and access. It was all a set up then and now.
