For one thing they've dumped part time in with full time for a long time now, very sloppy/sloshy reporting. Part time may mean 10/week. They don't care but the workers DO!
Or full time temporary jobs. They were hiring in late May for lifeguard jobs across the nation. For all we know, the 500,000 plus jobs added belong to Spirit of Halloween. They'll be open three months at most.
That was easy. The Fed just revised the definition of "job" to include "begging for cash on a street corner". Suddenly, the economy added 528,000 new jobs.
And conveniently ADP stopped their independent monthly employment report. It was dramatically more negative than the Biden Administration version of truth so they had to “retool” it.
Restaurants and other retail businesses around here can't find enough employees willing to work for any amount of pay. They are decreasing hours and even days of operation. Some are closing down. I'm going to one patriot restaurant today that closes at 3PM every day and is closed on Mondays.
It's a catch-22 in restaurants and retail the fewer hours they operate the HARDER it is to staff because people can't survive on a few hours at this job and few hours at that one. So they either quit or look elsewhere. If they were full time jobs with benefits they'd find plenty of workers.
So, that many people finally stopped getting paid to not work? It should be mandatory to show total lost per sector, total returned per sector, and total new jobs per sector.
And I’d like to add, food service and bottom of the barrel labor jobs aren’t JOBS, they’re sentences of poverty. Rising rent, food, gas, utilities and no significant wage increase for YEARS. It’s useless to work these low level jobs.
Do what? Go to school? Awesome let’s snag 100k in debt for a job that adds $3 an hour that will take me 12 years to pay off with those $3. Meaning you still live in poverty but with fancy papers.
The high paying local healthy jobs are dead. Coal mining isn’t too healthy I hear.
Remember when it used to reported as Blue Collar jobs or Manufacturing jobs, Retail, White Collar etc.? It makes a HUGE difference and they've obscured all of that.
I am sure they redefined employment numbers (and I am not even being ironic)

Yep, big part of the con job. I am sure they massage the numbers in many other ways as well.

I can’t believe they have stores dedicated to one crap ass holiday it’s disgusting.
I can see Spirit of Halloween going out of business very soon. Who can think of buying costumes with this inflation?

Your probably right!

ADP was owned or started IIRC by Frank Lautenberg, a dem from NJ

Those benefits cost more.
The company i work for just layed off for the first time in its 40+ year history.

Learn to code and ask if you would like to supersize…
We are under a hiring freeze. First time in a while.
The layoffs are happening but it is the Biden illegals that are getting the new jobs.
