So, if you happen to actually enjoy a show but, actors RL are against your politics then you are "shilling for the show?" Learn to separate the Person from the Art when it comes to things like this, maybe? Personally, I have not watched that show but, think I want to now just because you are trying to shame people who do watch it. heh.
The people I know who watch stuff like this take it way too personally. It's funny to me how they wrap their life and views around something that's not real, only to find out the actors that play in it are nearly in 180° misalignment with the values of what they are portraying.
Taylor Sheridan is co creator and writer for Yellowstone and 1883 and has deliberately tried to keep politics out of his shows, though he’s known as a centrist. From what I’ve read, he regards those audiences too intelligent to have politics shoved down their throats. He snuck Tom Hanks in an episode of 1883 just because he could. I was like... “wtf is that Tom Hanks?” But it was like he did it to show he doesn’t care about ideologies, he cares about good acting and filling the parts with the best possible representations of the characters. Seems like Costner plays a good John Dutton.
From what I’ve read about Costner- he’s been a Dem for a long time. But here’s the thing- I don’t care because I like the series and also thought 1883 was pretty amazing. If anything, they lean toward the conservative side. I’ve just never bought into cancel culture at all. If something offends me, I won’t buy it or watch it but this is America. Are we going to encourage independence, or not? Costner has been in a few good movies. I loved Dances with Wolves-one of my all-time favs. Field of Dreams? Wyatt Earp? The Untouchables? Yas! He’s had some dogs. He’s executive producer of Yellowstone. It’s still ok. Don’t hyperventilate. He feels entitled to wear a shirt that broadcasts his personal stupidity and weakness- that is fine. I’ll wear my “Lets Go Brandon” shirt. I feel like I’d still probably want to have a beer with him if I had the opportunity. My grandma is a bleeding heart, totally frustrating, lifelong Dem but I still believe she’s an amazing (albeit brainwashed by CNN) woman. I just don’t think things have to be black and white.
Also to add- I am almost 100% sure this is a photoshopped pic.
The show is entertainment. Personal views are Personal views. Watching the show doesn't support his views. Last I checked he has freedom to choose. Even though he's making a terrible decision.
🤭oh no! Not Kevin! They’ve converted Kevin!…..on a personal note, I’ve always appreciated him as an actor and accomplished horseman. But now if he is what his shirt says, well, just fuck him!
I don't know. The look on his face says "I lost a bet and am forced to wear this shirt."
Costner, in interviews and such, always gave me a center right vibe, but he was always careful not to fully align with any side. I can respect an actor that does that. Keeps politics to themselves for the most part, rather than using their fame to sway.
I enjoyed the first couple seasons of the show. I've given up on it. Too far fetched lately. As a person who lives rural, horses, cattle, etc., I can't stand the portrayal of the lifestyle. Mostly can't stand the social media aspects of it and how badly it misconstrues and perverts the reality of it in the eyes of those so far removed from the principals. Alas, that it was makes "good" tv though. If it were real, people would turn it off the first time they watched a guy scrub a water tank or trim hooves or fix a broken fence.
Yah, day to day ranch/farm work isn't very exciting... LoL one whole episode about 14 hour days drilling millet or wheat in a beat to shit old Versatile 855 with no AC.
I hear ya brother. Truth.
The show is filmed in Montana, why would he wear a shirt like that in Montana?
I thought the show was actually filmed in Utah but it takes place in montana near the Wyoming border
Either to get a rise out of people as a joke, or he's just another woke puppet getting paid to say political things
Take Brandon to the train station....................
Nice tits...
Nobody here has ever mentioned it.
Or I just whistled Dixie and moved on
Either way, I think we separate any "art" we enjoy from real life
Maybe he’s just an asleep Normie who doesn’t know any better. I used to be…
One of the loudest local mask/vaxx proponents where I live was posting Yellowstone-themed memes about dignity, bravery, self-reliance, etc. I couldn't figure out how she could be so self-contradictory as she scolded people for questioning the mandates while simultaneously drooling over a TV cowboy. Cognitive dissonance or cognitive dissolution.
I say it all the time, we are surrounded by retards...
Yeah, they did a print run of 10 with that logo. Only sold one, so far.
Laundry day
The people that I know that watch it, fein over it... They talk about nothing but that show constantly...
