I was a nicotine addict for years, I’m still relatively young, so not decades, but at the time that I quit I had been on cigarettes, vapes, whatever. I hadn’t asked God in a legitimate way for anything. I’d asked for material and wealth “wishes” rather than actual guidance and help with my struggles.
Well, one day I decided to ask for strength to quit the nicotine. And I did. I took my last puff for months, then I relapsed, maybe three months back on it.
I knew I had broken my promise, and I did feel guilt. So, in order to fix it, I told God I would do it on my own, and so I did. I had a promise to uphold, and I did it.
a Tax Collector was one of the 12 apostles (a corrupt government flunkie
a prostitute had 7 devils driven out of her, after that she followed Jesus, His mother and the apostles, even staying at the foot of the cross when the apostles ran away
he dined with sinners, so that the Pharisees criticized him for it
pardoned the woman who was going to be stoned for adultery
his parable of the Prodigal son
he promised one of the criminals crucified beside him he would join Him that night in Paradise
and as Jesus was being nailed to the cross “Father forgive them for they do not know what they do.”
With God there is forgiveness and plenteous redemption. Just need God’s amazing grace to help one on The Way.
People have their issues with Christianity and rightly so, but I am noticing more respect and even reverence for the teachings and ideas of Jesus... Frens... We aren't all going to agree. But instead of being concerned with gay Christians or any other sinner trying to follow Jesus in their way, you pray for them and love them. We are not above anyone... In fact, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. That is what we need to do... Lead by serving... Treat them better, despite how they treat any of you. Jesus didn't attach any terms or conditions to loving our enemies. He simply said to do it...
Put on the full armor of God.
So pleased to hear about your transformation. I have a story not similar to yours but I was a drug addict. God delivered me. Peace be with you

Stay strong and keep fighting the good fight. God will honor that!
As to you!
Amen, Thank you for the reminder.
Jesus had many instances of fforgiveness-
a Tax Collector was one of the 12 apostles (a corrupt government flunkie
a prostitute had 7 devils driven out of her, after that she followed Jesus, His mother and the apostles, even staying at the foot of the cross when the apostles ran away
he dined with sinners, so that the Pharisees criticized him for it

Go & sin no more.
Agree....Crop that hair though.
