I noticed this about 3-4 years ago, when I could no longer find things. Now that everyone else is catching up (and not saying I was the first to notice; but), now that it is getting into mainstream with people talking about it, you know this shit is really bad.
Yes.... It is very limited. I still use it when I can because I'm assuming it will improve. Also.... Very much dislike that anything I share in a text from freespoke has a paragraph tagged on saying it is from freespoke. I can't find any way to turn it off
Ed @ The Outer Light has been doing this for a LONG time, but sadly he's been deplatformed from most of the major platforms. He did some amazing videos on YT back in the day before he was shut down.
-Mods, this post should be stickied. Yes, many of us have known about this issue for years, but what Ed @ The Outer Light is showing us here is a whole new level of censorship and manipulation of the populace.
-For those of you who haven't listened to Ed before, he's well worth your time to follow. Sad that his platform has been so reduced over the years due to censorship. He made some incredible videos on YT.
Sometimes I'll search for certain things on google just to see what they're feeding the normies on a specific topic. Takes about .5 seconds and I'm completely disgusted
Why do that, when we have the technology to decentralize?
I know that social media network prototypes were made (such as Diaspora) that enabled partial-hosting and redundancy? Basically using torrents in real time to host websites.
I'm not familiar with the tech, beyond the vague words I wrote.
I agree… and I feel Google is the root of the whole problem. For one Google has too much oversight over SEO and what people are trying to promote through search entrance.
The Internet was doing just fine before this monster came along!
Ah, who cares. Everything you actually need to know has been staring you in the face the whole time anyway. Plus, life was more fun when it was harder to get things. All this technological convenience bores me into gratuitous troublemaking anyway, which upsets people and makes me feel guilty about distracting them from their own journeys for the sake of my own entertainment.

It started earlier when they limited your ability to accurately search by specific date / date range.
I messaged my friend after watching this video. "I think we better build our own search enginge. We are probably gonna need it."
Did you try freespoke.com? There was a post about it on GAW (actually several) a few days back.

Operation mockingbird that’s what.
Freespoke is garbage, too

I’ve ended up using yandex a few times lately. Some things are just easier to find that way.
Google is only really good for shopping, and left wing narratives.
And it's good for finding solutions to programming problems!
Programming, the only thing that is non political these days!
I use Yandex now too.
Here are a few you might not know about, but all of them rely on google to some extent. Links broken as you can see, I hope this helps.

wow try 'one search', after you get into the higher pages, they are literally just the exact same page over and over.
I bet they are trying to give conservatives and commies different results.
A couple things here:

We need to set up an internet like the old BBS systems. Completely "detached" from the internet on private servers. Those were the good old days.
Why do that, when we have the technology to decentralize?
I know that social media network prototypes were made (such as Diaspora) that enabled partial-hosting and redundancy? Basically using torrents in real time to host websites.

Disturbing proof they’re quietly deleting the internet.

Does this shutdown/future blackout usher in the Quantum internet?
Some subjects, such as alternative energy research, have been decimated. Fortunately, many have archived.
I use Brave search engine. Wish the results were better but it's okay.
I've been using Qwant for some time. It seems to do a good job.
Any opinions on the YaCy search engine?
