I have been wondering about this kind of thing.
Recent migrants have somewhere to return to I guess. Without preferential gov support, they may find that more attractive than staying if they don't integrate well.
Europeans may have to hunker down in cold and hunger like we always used to. In this situation, trust and reciprocity and practical skills are rewarded.
Back in 2016, Trump described a strategy that held illegals would self-deport if things weren't as rosy for them, or things got uncomfortable.
I mean these were people who wouldn't even stay in their native country to fight for something, instead they ran away. Do you think they'll stick around to fight for a country they just got to a few years ago?
