Had a conversation with several teachers I'm acquainted with in the past week or so, and they've all confirmed it. Using the numbers they gave me, I did the math, and public school enrollment is down a literal 90% in our county. It's apparently so bad that they don't have enough students to play sports, have remedial classes, or even justify having multiple teachers for a single subject.
Most grades apparently have a single small class now, and the teachers sit around and wait all day until it's their turn to teach that single class. Apparently, everyone has pulled their kids out and is either sending them to one of the local Christian schools, or doing some form of homeschooling.
So 90% of the kids in my county are now better off. On the flip side, the other 10% are unfortunately kind of screwed since apparently their parents don't care and they're easily influenced by the degeneracy of the public school system, The schools are apparently now filled with kids who do nothing but curse, be disrespectful, and are open with their degeneracy. There's apparently kids asking their teachers for feet pics to sell online and talking about being furry's openly.
I've come to the conclusion, that at least around here, that the only kids left in the public school system are those whose parents don't care or support the degeneracy and just want to use the school as free baby sitting. Hence, the kids are acting out and doing this stupid crap as a means of getting the attention they're denied in the personal lives from their parents and other authority figures.
So bit bittersweet, but I consider this a local win nonetheless. Especially since there seems to be less and less kids on the buses as they drive by everyday, meaning that people are STILL pulling their kids out and that number is going down more everyday.
Sometimes its not that parents 'don't care'. Sometimes they are very busy earning a paycheck to simply survive with a roof over their heads and food on the table. They likely dont have family support or a network of independent friends and are doing the best they can until (Trump and/or others) changes nations course back to where we can live 'well' not simply survive.
One thing that's really begun to bother me is people are taking the wrong lesson from the whole public school vs home school issue. The problem isn't the school itself, it's the people running them, especially in the last 30 years. This would seem to be the most obvious fact, but I've noticed many seem to dance around it.
Also, a lot of children depend on those free school lunches as their only meal of the day.
That’s great to hear! My kids have been homeschooled since Covid forced them to finish the year online from home in 2019. We all enjoyed it and decided to homeschool from them on. They went to a very reputable public school in the area but I couldn’t believe how many students they had. I think the year they left, there were 1300 kids in the elementary school. The school couldn’t handle the volume and had portable classrooms, basically trailers, lined up on the property. I’m talking 30-40 of them. There’s no way, even in a good school, for all the kids to get the individual attention they need in a situation like that.
The schools in my area enrollment is up, but I thinks is from the influx from people fleeing Demoncrat run states moving here. I work for my local school district and there are a lot of patriot teachers here, they still do the pledge every morning, a order came down from the State saying they needed to get rid of the books about slavery and the civil war also MLK books as well. The librarian thought it was stupid and she kept the books in the library but said she threw them away. It's a small town in a red county. I honestly believe it's the public schools in the big cities that are pushing all the garbage you see going on I'm schools on the internet.
Go woke, go broke. Defund public school education. Teachers might then shape up and fight to keep their jobs by not acting like deviants themselves. They are supposed to be role models, not tattooed, nose ring, purple hair, sexual deviant freaks.
For that 10% it may not necessarily be that the parents don't care. It could be they don't have the financial means to do private school or homeschool. Requires a parent at home, no? Means a parent who is not working.
But yes definitely a YUUUUGE local win.
Except for perhaps their own illiteracy. I know of 2 cases of this personally. Also, schools getting large numbers of immigrants are forced to teach to the lowest common denominator. If ESL students are there, this is definitely an influence on the curricula.
Way back in the old days, non English speaking kids were taught through English immersion.
About a year of it, and then they rapidly caught up with their native English speaking peers.
That's not politically acceptable any more I guess.
Since the bulk of property taxes got to the public schools - hope you get a big tax break.
They'll just say they need a brand new smaller facility to more efficiently manage the smaller student body. They love being weasels like that.
It's people pulling their kids out. The local Christian schools have had to hire more than a dozen teachers a piece in order to have enough teachers to actually teach the massive influx of kids they have coming in. And that's just the Christian Schools. Doesn't account for all of the homeschoolers.
I hope you're not in one of those small rural counties where the school system and hospital make up most of the jobs.
Pretty rural county, but It's not small. I'd say mid size and most of the jobs in the county are from a different industry. Medical and Educational jobs make up something like, 2-3% of the jobs in the whole county.
Either way, I still consider it a win, especially since I know it's like this everyone in the country currently. It may not be literally 90%, but public school enrollment is down so much across the nation, that the system collapse is imminent.
No doubt. I teach in a suburban high school and we are seeing pretty big drops across the whole county. All the systems. Started w school choice and charter schools, accelerated with COVID and seems to be gathering steam each year. Im not mad about it. Id love to be able to monetize my work outside of a school, but haven't figured that out yet!
Health care will cease to exist as we now know it. Herbal and holistic cures have been around for awhile, but we’re suppressed by those that pay the AMA and AAP to suppress it all in the name of money for Big Pharma and hospitals
Sounds like America is coming back. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thats great news!
Feet pics and talking about being furry's? Sounds like these children aren't being supervised AT ALL.
90% ??? Wow. The school will shut down soon. This should be all over MSM.But, again, it's not. Thanks for sharing.
u/#correct
That's still funny.
What state are you in? Also sounds like you believe there are more evil than good people in the school systems across the nation. This is simply not the case. My local public schools are very conservative and the staff is probably 50% Christian. Overt mentions of God by staff and faculty. High standards of behavior and learning.
Fighting means we take back what was lost for all the kids, all the kids. We fix what is broken not give up and complain.
Sure it will be difficult and hard to navigate but just because the Christian schools don't teach CRT garbage doesn't mean they are the best option for kids. many Christian schools force students away from God through religion and legalism.
I've been avoiding saying what state I live in for a while, but at this point I suppose it doesn't matter. Not like the government can't track me anyway. Virginia, and the local school board has been hiring a lot of woke types lately. Before this semester started, they hired some queer lesbian from Hawaii to replace a teacher who retired last year, and she's done nothing but anger everyone local since she's been here.
Even talked about running for mayor of one of the local towns at one point, and I reckon she got cursed out by everyone present at the first and only "debate" and literally told to go back to Hawaii.
And I'm fully aware of everything you've said, and I feel for those people. But you have to admit, that the overwhelming majority of those in the education system are complacent or corrupt. Hence, why this collapse is necessary to get that control back and put the people in charge that will actually put the kids first instead of some woke agenda.
Complacency is exactly the issue I'm pointing out. There is a problem and it's our responsibility to go into those places and make a difference. Many places are gaining teachers who want to make a difference and taking back the children's education. Sadly it sounds like that hasn't happened in your area yet.
