What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food? I’ll start.... Stuffing, with lots of junk in it. Spices, fruits, nuts, etc. I just love it, especially with a little gravy.
Dressing with giblet gravy and macaroni and cheese pie.
My daughter is vegetarian so I also made a couscous and walnut wellington for the table. That was delicious!
I also made a parsnip potato gratin that was close to perfection.
We got pretty good green bean casserole with those onion straw things and cream of mushroom. Cheap but the people like it. Your broccoli sounds great!
Agreed. I will let people in on one of my secrets for green bean casserole: use frozen rather than canned.
Broccoli rice and cheese is on the menu at my mother in laws today. It’s my favorite at the in laws house, because...shhhh, it’s the only thing she can cook well. 😂 My mom in the other hand is a fantastic cook. We had thanksgiving with them on Sunday. The food is on point! We get two thanksgiving meals, both very different.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I love a good green bean casserole!
I’d rather have Mexican than traditional Thanksgiving food. I do love a good pan cooked dressing with gravy. That’s better than the turkey. I know it’s not healthy but I love canned cranberry sauce (jello should be what it’s called). I’m weird I put gravy on cranberry sauce. In the south depending on your region you either eat cornbread dressing or dressing with celery, onions and spices. Think stove top dressing 1,000 times better. We don’t put dressing in the bird.
Canned cranberry sauce. Yum! Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. Because, I love to eat!
Hope you got your belly full today of great food. I ate to much so I brought dessert home.
My brother in law cooked the turkey on Pit Boss grill. I don’t even like turkey and it was the best I’ve ever had. So moist! I think for me I prefer dressing out of bird because of the crispy edges, if cooked properly. I can’t judge, I’ve never cooked it. Yeah, Mexican is the best.
A good stuffing is hard to beat. Growing up, my family had one with pear and sausage slices in it. I can't remember the other ingredients, but it was delicious. Practically a meal in itself.
That sounds delicious. My dad makes two because my mom doesn’t like it in the bird. We have in the bird with cherries, nuts, cranberries, and who the heck else knows. Then we have one out of the bird. Both good. I end up getting some of both and they eventually get mixed.
That sounds interesting.
