AMERICANS, willing to cross a frozen river to kill you. In your sleep. On Christmas.
Sic semper tyrannis.
AMERICANS, willing to risk their livelihood to sic semper tyrannis.
(the Minuteman has literally just put down his tools to take up arms, all or nothing.)
And as I understand it, from a book I read, General Washington thought a lot about that crossing because up until he did it battles were never fought on holidays or around them. He figured correctly and surprised the British just as planned.
No sauce, but didn't Washington claim to have seen an "entity" which stressed to him the importance of that entire Winter's timeline of events?
Swear I read that years ago, on the road or I'd attempt to look it up...
Very intriguing indeed.
Wow that's fascinating! Never heard that tale before
And didn't most of the Founders live long lives, longer than the average for the time? Definitely alludes to some type of protection.
Seventeen, you say?
I've read this before and believe it. Washington was Divinely protected. Our country was founded with the aid of Christ and He will not be mocked. He waits until everything looks hopeless so that we will know "from whence cometh our help".
Sounds familiar to me too but saucefags are going to want a link instead of digging for themselves 🙄
Yeah, I wanna say I read it in a book titled "weird history 101" circa 2005-2006ish. It was a really well made book of lesser known historical events and little known habbenings during well known events.
Here's a link to the book, perhaps another anon has read it and recalls the Washington visited by angel/alien/whatever blurb
I saw this on Ancient Aliens so it's probably true
I don't remember anything like that.
Almost a surprise. A spy warned the British that night about the incoming attack, but the commanding officer arrogantly dismissed it thinking if they did attack it would be an easy victory.
In the book I read, that wasn't stated--I believe--or I don't remember it.
Sounds valid, considering the British thought wearing red and marching slowly in rows was an honorable and valid warfare tactic KEK
Santa Claus ain't coming to town tonight. Just Washington and the boys coming to snap necks and cash checks
