Someone made the decision to route the data through Baker rather than just handing it over to Taibbi and Weiss, and then made another decision to keep it quiet from everyone including Elon in the hopes that no one would notice.
Baker's incompetence just burned someone else, too.
This is what I was thinking. Also I would imagine Twitter has massive amounts of data. Letting him stay on staff, and asuming their internal systems leave an audit trail, him deleting things would lead elon directly to what baker deemed as most important to get rid of/most damning
If you had an employee you suspected was stealing from you, would you fire him under suspicion or would you put new cameras in he didn't know about, catch him in the act, then prosecute?
The "prosecute" part remains to be seen. One can hope.
IMO, Musk was giving Baker all the rope he needed to hang himself and add more frosting to everything coming out in the twatter files about the collusion between twatter and doj...
I don't know about Baker. I've heard that Durham has given him immunity from Baker's previous shenanigans regarding the Apha Bank hoax in 2017.
Also Baker was the one who leaked to the press that the FBI was investigating Trump for Russian collusion, which led to the Mueller investigation. Why would Durham give him immunity from all that?
How about so he could drag him into the light and burn him in the public square?
Or find out who the sleeper agent was.

He is going by the book in my view. He is waiting for them to make a move then expose them.
He wants to answer the question of why he is firing them.

Because they just got red-hot prooof. That's why. All it cost was a delay in releasing part 2.
Why waste the opportunity to catch him red-handed?

Because Baker had already been pardoned and they needed to catch him doing new illegal things to try him?
Now that he was fired we kinda hope Elon played him longer lol
You never stop the enemy when they are doing harm to themselves
Umbrella, I think that bishop obviously. Why you stuck on that?
Sigh... exposure. This is simple.
