That is why the corruption is so deep. Jobs are given to spouses, close friends and children of the corrupt. The corrupt either marry the corrupt cabal it’s or they marry their 4th or 5th cousins. The corrupt are in government, their spouses and children hold jobs that support and block investigations, prosecutions and firing of the corrupt. The corrupt pass laws that allow and support their corruption, their corrupt family and friends hold positions in finance in the corrupt government bureaus that support money laundering, theft and funneling money to organizations which support them. Kickbacks for funneled money is given. Then those in government, media, social media, medical all support each other in the swindles. The drug, human and gun trafficking is supported and prosecutions are blocked by law enforcement, governors, judges who all get their cut and enrich themselves at the cost of others. Those others are killed by drugs, shot by criminals let out of prison early, or are children and adults sold for sex, pornography, or adrenochrome. Those in government bureaus support each other in endless wars which enriches them through weapons manufacturing and selling; planes, drones and tanks are sold; hospitals get the business of those soldiers and civilians injured in war; oil and gas companies profit by the selling of fuel to military. It is all a vicious cycle of corruption and profiteering at the expense of death and injury to our military.
I heard a story on NPR many years ago regarding corruption of DC politicians, and their research indicated that even the most honest, hard-working, "great" people who get elected and go to Washington end up being corrupted just like the rest. I wonder if there are ANY who aren't corrupt; we are just led to believe that some are ok, but do we really know?
