They hoped, but the problem is that municipalities are very diverse in their needs, which is actually the case, always, for every country. A one-size-fits-all policy just does not work. So, socialism tends to gravitate around cities, where there are properly indoctrinated academics, while more independence is claimed in rural areas, with cultural needs, such as Lapland in Finland, for example.
In defense of academics, however, Finland is one of the first countries to recognize that qualitative theses, with the accompanying ethics of Humanities, is a school of thought that runs counter to the 'normal' ethics applications that follow Philosophy of Science, that was developed after the 18th century, during the 19th century etc.
For sure, qualitative work has its place, especially in emerging fields, when the body of work published is scant, but most academic outfits rigidly stick to positivism and descend like rabid dogs on any kind of deviation from structured templates that steer the candidate towards conducting surveys.
Some may disagree, and claim that qualitative work is the purview of blue-hairs, however, I beg to differ.
Finnish media warned today that the price of kwh may reach as high $11/kwh very soon. That would mean that my electricity bill would jump from $55 to $2022. I wouldn't be able to pay that bill and I think a lot of people would go bankrupt instantly.
Are the people going to give up their homes to government to pay their electricity bills? #greatreset
How many Finnish people still have fireplaces in their homes is a question. I bet the rural areas tend to have these, as well as wood-fired saunas, to properly warm up.
Most people live in apartments which have no fireplaces and the government has been paying people to dismantle fireplaces in their homes but people who own their own houses usually have fireplaces.
My father for example has 2 saunas in his house, one is electric and the other is wood-fired sauna and he also has a fireplace he uses for heating his house. My mother has a wood-fired sauna and a fireplace that can be used for heating the house and also for heating food.
In America the push for people to go to suburbs or rural areas was to get away from city living and apartments for this very reason. Reduced freedom by staying in a city when there is an economic downturn. Only reason most people bother doing business in a city is because of jobs.
These lessons were learned long ago a century ago but it seems history is repeating itself.
I hope. Finns are not known for revolting even when the government literally fucks them into ass. Usually Finns just complain but doesn't do anything because they have been bred into slaves.
We've been under heavy masonic and russian influence since the 70s, and of course long before but its gotten way out of hand by now, we are on the brink and its already pretty dark with the big cities, especially Helsinki being overrun by street gangs and commie police and the cost of living and energy has gone up by 100-800% in the last 2 years etc etc
Finland does exactly one thing that is unequivocally awesome.
They have a version of baseball, called pesapallo, where almost every ball is put in play, and you actually have to rely on athleticism and strategic ball placement rather than swinging hard.
It honestly looks like a ton of fun, and I want to play it someday. Look it up on YouTube.
Remind me again whether Finland was one of the Scandinavian countries the Left would proudly showcase as the success of socialism ?
yep, Bernie Sanders has used Finland as an example of socialist model especially in healthcare for the USA.
Except Finnish healthcare system has been collapsing for years now because it's completely unsustainable https://legalinsurrection.com/2019/03/finland-government-collapses-over-universal-health-care-costs-bernie2020-hardest-hit/
They also abandoned neutrality to join the anti-muh-russia alliance.
Go buy oil from the saudis now and get it tankered into the baltic during winter, instead of across the border. Morons.

But they support 'ukraine'. Even the people.
Tough.
I seriously think that if people were to have their bills raise by almost 40 times that revolt would break out almost instantly, not even overnight.

Finland has always been on the forefront of reforms, and also at rejecting reforms when they prove to be crap, which they usually are..
