The latest Q posts have forced "fringe" theories on us. My take requires 'ascension' & 'DNA' to go together. In humans, only about 2% of the genome encodes proteins that become us humans. The remaining 98% is 'evolutionary detritus,' or, "junk DNA." But what if it's not actually JUNK? (See comments)

DNA science is very incomplete, just like life science is- docs have no idea how the brain really works, little idea of most of the complex systems that run us. Part of the problem is the misinformation they're bombarded with in school.

Yes, present day. There are people who have lived longer than 120 years. I mean not by much, but certainly 120 is not a hard cap.

Having played all the original assassin's Creed a I've often wondered if the technology existed like the Animus. Also the side content in each game is its own conspiracy theory laden adventure in itself. I don't have the time to play Vidya games much anymore but they were fun when I was younger. Glad I got to be a part of the coop buddy on a couch generation. Kids can't even play two player video games in the same room anymore.

I've always been amazed at how analogous the human body is to a computer system.
"Junk DNA" resembles an infrequently running cron job, or some edge case handling of a tricky algorithm. It may be rarely "activated", but it came into existence for a reason, and you should be wary of just deleting it just because it doesn't seem important at the moment.
But you make a great point that perhaps this DNA could also be a set of amazing programs or libraries our body has never run. What if we just need to find the right way to kick them off? Perhaps geniuses are simply people who have found a way to tap into these programs? For example, a musical savant or a person who can withstand extreme cold. Could traits like a great sense of humor even boil down to tapped/untapped DNA?
