I’m just saying every TV I’ve looked at has a built in Alexa. I know my phone has one, but does every fucking device need listening software? This is fucking ridiculous! Just 20 years ago people would be appalled by this.

I was looking for a small TV for a bedroom. The only thing I could find that didn't have listening devices were considered computer monitors. They have HDMI in, which is all I needed to connect.

You can get a number Celt sized monitor. I have one in my office for doin plan reviews.
Buy an old one at a yard sale.
Read the mouse print, some have cameras too.
At least you can cover up the camera. How to turn off the listening device?
When I bought a fire stick years ago for cheap a needle easily fixed the mic in the remote. 😉
I use a laptop with camera facing away because I'm using a monitor. I doubt there's any sure way.
You open the TV and desolder or cut the wires to the microphone and camera.
Don't let the fridge hear you either.

Don't shit yourself but all tvs made after digital came out have multi cams and michrophones. I tried to find locations on the different mfr's (lol - mfr's= manufacters) of the 3 that I have but didn't anything back. But I remember a Q post showing a pic of some sports bar here in the US with 3 or more big screen tvs facing costomers and Q saying "who's watching who?"
Samsung made a TV where the screen is also a camera.
Sony and Microshaft made game consoles that have a connected device that does the same.
The real Q is- how do we figure out if the electronic device is secretly connecting itself to Goverzilla or other creepy crawler hidden network?
I think Sceptre still makes dumb TVs.
There is an easy solution to that problem. Open it up and take a wire cutters to the microphone. Problem solved.
Amen & I believe we will have to give it up & go outside. Now don’t get me wrong but just by me even feeling some angst over letting go of the tv makes me cringe but I know that is what I need to do.
