Ahh thank you ,,I’m in San Diego I have 6 to 10 feeders in my back yard , I love my birds so sweet . Problem is the falcons and hawks know about it to ;(
I feed the crows every morning in my front yard as well , they come to my trees and squawk to let me know they are there and hungry, they are quiet friendly with me ! Btw glad to know u love the birdies too !
Yes ! I have really learned to love my crows , i had a couple yearlings this spring , very cool ! In my backyard I have a beautiful array of different birds ,, don’t miss the cold but wish I had cardinals and blue jays ! I also have fountains and love to see them frolick in the water ,, God is so amazing !
Saw a Cardinal yesterday at the Feeder. I give the crows Dog Bones. They remember the good faces. There are few varieties of Ducks that live in the River nearby. The Wood Ducks are especially pretty.
Love crows. Wathaurong heritage (Australia) believe crows are protectors. I always offer older / outdated chicken eggs in the hope they don't steal from my nests 🤣
I'm certain it is market forces. The question is what is influencing the supply side in order to manipulate those market forces.
Example. California recently raised the minimum size of chicken cages that farms must use for their hens. The farmers thus need to recover a substantial investment on a simultaneously smaller number of birds. And farms that couldn't make the investment just folded. So now you have a dramatic shortage of eggs that was entirely self inflicted because of (intentionally) poor planning.
I don't think any of this food inflation is direct market manipulation. It is reduced supply, masked as typical government incompetence, with the intention being done to make you eat the factory processed bug meat product.
Hundreds and hundreds of food processing plants and production plants have just burned down. No reason just poof. Famine starvation and control is the name of the game. Now add this stupid fertilizer control and reduction and you are going to make food hard to get or buy. Our government is making farmers slaughter their animals and not processing them? Paying for fallow fields? Why. Why is everything about destroying food.
I had a friend a couple months back mention a guy was in her local supermarket with literally a trolley of butter, cream, milk. Well the last price of a tub of butter $9.95. a few weeks earlier $7.95, a couple months ago about $5-6. I told her that bastard knew something was up. (Australia).
It's essentially a water bath. It keeps the temperature consistent around the entire pan so you don't get done/undone areas. Search "water bath baking" for a better explanation.
Same here in the UK. FYI, you can't go wrong with a Panasonic bread machine! Best buy ever for carb lovers :D
I was thinking the same thing. Have you seen the price of eggs lately? They cost more than beef!
I bought a bag of birdseed yesterday. 2 years ago, 16 a bag. Yesterday, 26.5.
I buy a lot of birdseed as well , can’t believe the prices ,,, ace hardware has buy one get one free for the month, I’m going to load up !
The Burdies did thank me for the seeds. So that is Always priceless. God bless your bird feeding heart.

There is no greater joy than seeing a happy flock healthy from your Winter feeding.

You must live in a beautiful part of the country

2 solutions to hawks: air soft gun or stop feeding for a couple weeks. No food source for the hawks, they'll move on.

I bought a small pack of crackers, used to be $1.20, now $4.60. Not sure how anyone can afford anything now days.

And also skyrocket fertilizer prices. Was approx $3k to $15k in Australia. Currently $6700

I’ve not heard of the boiling water underneath. What is the purpose of that?
Gives it the nice chewy crust. German bakers steam the bread for 15 sec as soon as they put it in the oven (at least they did in 1993)
It actually gives it a chewy crust.

Make your own bread, it will cost pennies. It isn’t pumped with air, chemicals and preservatives. You will know what is in it.
Everything has gone up....except bananas. Still $0.99/lb. for as long as I can remember.
Bananas 99 cents?!? They were always .39 where I live; now .59/lb. And I'm not anywhere near where bananas would grow.
