Is anyone else seeing this?
🧐 Help Wanted 🤔
Just went and got my anual check up at the VA. My doctor wants me to see a Cardiologists to get my ticker checked out. They called me today and told me that 3 or 4 doctors (can't remember) that they have are booked out 4 months and they are not accepting new patients. I am being offered an oportunity to go out into the open market to get the testing I need done. Am I being overly sensitive to the Vax causing issues with active duty people? I'm not sure what to think.
I wouldn't let the VA take my temperature. Sincerely, a Registered Nurse and a military spouse.
we used to say that military doctors got their malpractice out of the way before they went on to a civilian practice.
had a doctor on one of my ships tell me that the inguinal hernia that i had could possibly be an ingrown hair. I went straight to the base hospital after that. doctor made me turn my head and cough and told me “follow your chain of command next time” 🤣 got my hernia fixed 2 weeks later.
Wow! Today my friend told me that the patient advocate at the VA advised him to sue the VA and is helping with the documentation process!
wow!
I haven't been to a doctor, except eye doctor and a dentist, in over 10 years.
Our double damned corrupt government has thoroughly fouled our health care system tho.
Trump put in place something that vets could go to other doctors didn't he? Part of his VA reform.
Or VA under funding. Take your pick. It’s probably both.
My dad has his care exclusively through the VA. It’s a newer rule if appointments aren’t available within so many mile and so much time he can go out on his own and they pay for it. It’s worked out well for him.
No doctors are getting more vax injured patients. I try to stay away from medical facilities, especially VA facilities, except to get blood labs so i can monitor my health and adjust my own care.
I avoid the VA like the plague. They certainly don't have the best of the best doctors there. And from my own experience, they're all too ambitious with their little knives. I'm not a guinea pig and that one experience was the last... Never again.
Is there anything wrong with your ticker? Or is it a further analysis? I lost all trust for doctors.... don't rely on the opinion of one doctor and choose your doctor well. If you can find other than a medical physician, then act accordingly.
No VA for me. I am blessed to have concierge level medical through private insurance. Not even worth the disability process IMO. Disappeared, like a ghost.
Six of my uncles went to WWII and all six came home. None but the youngest ever went to the VA. The youngest had great coverage as a public service worked but he did see an excellent tropical medicine specialist for a weird tropical skin condition. He and the rest said they’d rather die than to go to the VA.
They VA is Way behind on work. They required the jab and a lot of people quit so everything is backed up. Got medicare this last year and want nothing more to do with VA. There incompetence is horrific. I had a client lose his leg over a crack on his very dry heel!! Don't think, ACT. Call around for a cardio doc that will take you and then call Community Care directly with that info. Community care here is down about 40 employees, but make sure YOU are the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. The VA is NOT NOT NOT short of $$. They are right now spending about $7B to upgrade their computer system! If you go out on your own, make sure you have it in writing that they will pick up the tab otherwise.......No verbal bs.... in writing. Learn how to work the system which mainly means stay on top of things, you don't need to get angry and pissy with them, just firm and advocate for yourself. You deserve it. You served! And don't you hate it when they say,"thanks for your service"? Bugs the hell out of me! Like they really mean it. / s
I know a few folks that are prior military, I spoke with one today that said that his cancer treatments have been pushed to an outside group, my brother was supposed to have a colonoscopy in January and they canceled on him 2 days before because they could not get him in for the pre-op blood work. Brother is unvaxxed and refused to even get it to save his job. The friend with Cancer, (Vietnam Vet) and has always been in great shape, got the jab when the VA pushed it on him early on and then developed the cancer just a few months afterwards. Then my father had his benefits cut back in October of 2021 when they dropped my mother as a dependent. He just got his backpay and got it straightened out, and there are several of his friends that are going through the same thing. There are a lot of issues with the VA right now.
Did you know you dont have to be a medical doctor to practice medicine at a VA hospital? I worked at a university medical school and if we had a person who did not pass the boards or a foreign medical graduate who did not pass the English test we just put their rotations at the VA. Its an old rule meant to cover for medics on the battlefield or field hospitals.
