The other weird thing about this is the lack of local people uploading videos and pics of the event and its impact they took on their smartphones. In an era where people make vlogs about what they cooked for breakfast, I would think the internet would be filled with pics of dying livestock and wildlife around East Palestine.
I’ve searched Truth because it seems like the one platform that wouldn’t censor such posts and haven’t found anything posted by locals.
The other thing absent so far is an Army of Personal Injury Lawyers lining up to sue the railroad and the owners of the cargo.
Go onto Twitter (you don't have to be a member) and type in 'Palestine, Ohio' into the search bar and all kinds of videos for this event come up, including dead fish in the water, a man holding a sick fox, terrifying dark clouds overhead, and lots of videos of pouring smoke and raging fires.
Maybe I’ve been here too long, but an event happens that requires evacuating a two mile perimeter makes me wonder. Did something need to be done inside that perimeter with no outside eyes on?
That could also explain the lack of agencies like FEMA and organizations like the Red Cross, too many eyes and ears to control.
I see what you're saying (possibly using non-harmful smoke clouds to clear the area) but do you think the dead animal things might be 'plants' too? Really strange about the absence of the agencies and aggrieved parents/residents of the area all over the place.
At this point I don’t know what to think. And, I don’t doubt the lengths the Government might go to cover its tracks.
But, after reading other comments and thinking about it for a while, maybe this isn’t as complicated as some of us think, including me. This might be as simple as Governor DeWine looking out for powerful business interests.
The Feds need a request from DeWine before they can get involved. Yes, the DOT will investigate after the fact, but I’m pretty sure the other Federal Agencies like FEMA and even the EPA need a request for assistance from the state. The point being, everything that has happened rests squarely on the shoulder of Governor DeWine and Norfolk Southern.
If you are a smart lawyer, you would be on a teleconference via computer or a Webex meeting; you wouldn't be there to soak up the contamination either. This is a horrible situation for the people so far affected by this. I imagine it is the Federal government's concern--but in today's world who knows.

Thank you! I got off Twitter a couple years ago and haven’t looked at it since. I can honestly say I get almost all my news here.
Smells very fishy to me.... edit:...I remember times when something of this magnitude would be covered by CNN 24/7.....But....Crickets ...

That was the premise in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". There was a train derailment releasing toxic nerve agents that required evacuation.
ok that's nice ...
