So the family instantly poo-poo'ed my concerns about this, because they all trust corporations and our government. I have zero trust in corporations or our government.
I think especially with the driver's door, pulling that handle on the inside should open your door. Mechanically, with no way for any computer to prevent it.
The internet seems to know nothing about this possibility, that the computer in your car can lock you inside
So law enforcement will be able to do this - obviously. They will be able to stop your car and lock you inside.
Me too. 2004 Chevy Suburban. The kids made fun of me when I had rust removed about 7 years ago. It's starting to rust out again. I told them, with any luck dad and I will die at the same time and they can use it as our coffin and bury us in our yard.
Of course they didn't think that was funny but we did.
Most modern cars and every car with a navigation system sends data about everything you do through a satellite or cell system back to the company. They track everywhere you go, for how long, where you work, where you like to eat, etc.
Typically you would have to disable this function specifically. Try a YouTube search for your car model.

People should have a window breaker in their glove compartment anyway…
And a seat belt cutter!
That’s why both cars are 2009. Just enough tech and looks to fit in and not connected to net.
Me too. 2008 to be specific. I'll drive it till the wheels fall off.

Mine's 2005.
2007... Do we have a straight yet? Lol
Right.! And what sheep don’t.? Minor complication.
But for pussies and soy boys the masculine violent thought of even breaking out a driver side window with their elbow would frighten them.
Well, Bill Goldberg--yes, the pro wrestler--came within a centimeter of losing his arm doing that in WCW, so...
Seriously, he was out for at least nine months after this. Serious blood vessel damage.
So I don't blame anyone for the fear. Get a window-breaker tool of some kind and keep it in the glove compartment.
I wont have any active cell connection in any vehicle I own. Just physically disable it
Same.
Is this more than just not connecting my phone and car via Bluetooth? Your statement sounds more like you need to do something versus not do something

Thank you.
there was a mod to the hardware.
Disable it and void your warranty.
nope, might void the warranty on the module you modded but thats all. the rest of the warranty stands.
Yup☘️breathalyzer coming soon. Not going to be able to start the car until you breathe into it.
