Simply the government noticing that they left a loophole. And now they are trying to impound money they legally never owned due to the loophole.

In other words: one criminal stealing from the guys whom the banking criminals facilitated.

It is still not clear what the outcome of the judicial proceeding will be.

Exactly. Came to echo this sentiment. It’s like the Triads shaking down the Mafia being framed by the Yakuza. Except no need to use criminal references. Government, bankers and whoever is doing the raiding make criminals of lore look like dairy maids.
