As someone who fell into that liberal hell of atheism, what I’ve witnessed since I awakened has made me more spiritual and I think it’s time I accept Jesus into my heart. I’ve witnessed the evil being pushed upon us and because of this, logically there must be an opposite to that. Light, goodness, God.
The translation is fine, people just don’t bother to read the rest of the Law where this commandment is expounded upon in greater detail. Lethal force in self defense is permitted in Exodus 22:2. Capital punishment is commanded for a number of crimes including rape, kidnapping, idolatry, murder, and working on the Sabbath. Distinctions are made between murder and manslaughter, with different procedures and punishments for each.
If the 10 Commandments said “thou shalt not murder” instead of “thou shalt not kill” the Israelites would start sacrificing their children to Molech and say, “this isn’t murder, it’s an offering!” That’s why the abridged rule in the 10 Commandments is so broad, with the exceptions detailed later in the Law.
Well thought out, but there is a big point you missed. The word "sin" means, "missed the mark." What is the mark? "You shall be holy as I am holy (Lev. 11:44 & 1 Pet. 1:16)." How can we be holy "as" God is holy? We "partake of His holiness (Heb. 12:10)." How do we partake of His holiness? "Eat Me, and you will live because of Me (Jn. 6:57)." How do we eat Him? He is the Word, and He is God (Jn. 1:1), and His "words are spirit and are life (Jn. 6:63)." Then "the God of peace Himself will sanctify (make holy) your whole spirit and soul and body...(1 Thessalonians 5:23)."

God is love!
Thou shalt not murder.
Murder is different than killing.
That's one of the mistranslation that messed stuff up.

Thought provoking! The Great Awakening Map does state that earth is the master school of spiritual evolution.
