Water is a real issue in AZ and the politics are shady AF. We have siblings who live in a nice neighborhood of Avondale (suburb of Phoenix), but their house gets robbed on a regular basis. This year they finally had to put metal screens over every window, upgrade the security cameras and service to monitor while they're at work every day. My brother in law literally cannot open his garage door to work on stuff without fear of thieves seeing what he has. Plus there a TON of drug dealing there. No bueno.
On the other hand, Palm Desert CA is fabulous! We moved here 1.5 years ago and have ZERO problems AND NO REGRETS. Riverside County is RED RED RED 🇺🇸
EDITING TO ADD: Coachella Valley has no water problems because the entire valley sits on a giant aquifer, which is why there's so many golf courses here. We have lush green lawns and fruit trees and can grow food year round. In the winter we can drive an hour to play in fifteen feet of snow or ride dune buggies in the high desert or visit many different lakes. Or we can drive two hours to go play in the Pacific Ocean. The City of Palm Desert is very, clean, well-run and our Sheriff is CONSERVATIVE.
Just a note to remind everybody that California recieved 78 Trillion gallons of water in the last 3 months. Snopack is 30% above previous recorded high. So much for the drought. Now if we canfire some politicians...
If you found a property with a well, I think you’d be okay near a conservative area. Another plus side of living in AZ, only one type of mold grows in the desert.
Check out Show Low Az. Lots of water, super conservative with great weather and people. Lots of things to do like skiing in winter at Sunrise ski resort, hiking, boating, camping in the summer. Great Elk and deer hunting and great backpacking, particularly in the Blue River wilderness area with wolf packs and hot springs.

hopefully before they drain all of that rain water into the ocean like they typically do.
I've been wondering how much/many of CA's problems were created by the DS.
Running out of water. Would not go anywhere dependent on Colorado River water allotments.
...Payson is nice...

I live in eastern NC, but western NC and eastern TN would be good, as long as you stay away from the large cities, especially Asheville.
I heard NC is conservative. Seems real estate is cheaper.
Look at Oklahoma.
Phoenix is now LA light. the traffic sucks, gas prices are atrocious, and cost of living is up. Hobbs is Cartel controlled.
Flagstaff in the summer, Phoenix / Tucson in the winter. Perfect.

Arizona is being used in the war of our border. Arizona does not count the people's votes.
I'd go to Texas before Arizona.
Cartels run our state. :(
Next-door neighbor moved here from Prescott a year ago. Hated AZ, and got fed up. Mostly political reasons...also snow.

I wouldn't go to any mainstream red state. Its pretty quiet in northern Idaho
Pensacola Florida Galveston Texas
Remember the cost of living is way higher on the coasts. I would definitely look at that, cost of housing, utilities etc. Stay out of big cities.
Id look at places in South Dakota, Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming. I’d stay away from Texas, Florida and Arizona. Too many rinos
