I don't get the whole don't arrest him before Wednesday thing. Can someone explain it to me like I'm driving alone in my car wearing a mask...over my eyes?
I read somewhere, that if they arrest him on a misdemeanor charge or two, then they take control of the evidence in all other cases against the defendant. Cannot confirm.
The DOJ has minor crimes to hang on Hunter, the House committee has major racketeering and money laundering charges that tie in the immediate Biden family. The House does not want their investigations into things like the Laptop from Hell quashed because of the DOJ's penny ante case.
Does putting it out there that they do not want Hunter indicted before they are ready to present their evidence mean they can claim obstruction of justice if the DOJ does so anyways?
I wouldn't think so. I see this as more of a dare, or a notification to the honest rank and file of the DOJ to keep an eye on their leaders. It has certainly caught a lot of eyes.
To what purpose, I don't know. Seems to me that the House could have bypassed this possibility by making its presentation today, or even last week -- once that door was opened, the DOJ would be unlikely to be able to close it again.
I assume that once they arrest him, they might be able to put some kind of media blackout over any info pertaining to Bidens because they are "under investigation" and effectively black ball the House report.
