My husband says that DJT didn't not keep his promise about Mexico paying for the border fence. Not that it is terribly important since he is sound asleep! Maybe I should just leave him sound asleep. Any opinions?

The only sauce is my memory here, but I recall Trump saying that Mexico DID pay for the wall by bringing in the Mexican Army to prevent border-jumpers into the United States and to police the large number of waiting would-be immigrants, before and during the Remain in Mexico policy. Also, they used their Army to block immigrants from South of THEIR border from entering Mexico on their way to the US.

At this point, let him wake up on his own. 2025 is right around the corner and we know by then we will be reaching the end of this movie. He will wake up between now and then with the rest of the normies. If he hasn't been redpilled in the last 6 years then it's not likely that the border wall will be the one that wakes him.
Very true. That's why I figured there was no reason to fight with him over this. I once in awhile will drop little things like about the satellite phones and the blackout. And I'll ask him questions about certainly things because he's very smart and then he asked why I'm asking, so I act dumb and tell him what it going on. Planting those seeds!
Trump had Mexico keep them in Mexico so yes in a sense they were paying. Thats what your husband is complaining about when Trump did everything he said he was going to do. Unlike any other politician anywhere.

Yeah, or it was something indirect. What he did, triggered this and that, and the wall he built is "paid for". But that's hard for a normie mind to digest the connections. And it is also a moot point now, with holes in the wall that thousands are pouring through.

I'm working late because I'm so frustrated with my totally asleep other half. I don't even want to go home, she pisses me off so much with her total lack of respect and "that's just your opinion" bullshit, even when I offer to show the receipts. "I don't want to hear it", yet she can spout off garbage like, "Trump is the biggest criminal alive! He's going to start a nuclear war!" and I can't say anything, because she doesn't want to hear ANY evidence to the contrary, even when I say that this is much bigger than just Trump. I'm so, so glad we're not married, as I'm considering just writing the whole thing off and bailing...
About the girlfriend - probably better get out now. Life is hard enough when you're on the same side. And being married to someone you don't think respects you is just going to lead to misery.
I've been down that road before, and I learned a huge lesson about being married to the wrong person. I'm not going through that ever again. This one had better wake up a little, or it's never going to happen. I'm already brushing aside any talk about it.

The best comeback to an argument like this is to point out that your opponent actually doesn't care at all about the point he is making. Your husband does not care who paid for the wall. He cares about being right. Help him to see that.
Yah, he hates me cuz I'm right a LOT! So he just says he doesn't want to talk politics but he is certainly thinking about politics! It's really a subject better left off the table. He'll be rudely awakened soon. The thing is he hates politicians!
It really doesn't matter if Mexico is paying for the wall or not. What matters is that your husband is nikpicking because President Trump made many major promises and kept most of them.
The fake news like to take things Trump said and twist it so they can critizise it, and it works. Trump obviously bever expected a check from Mexico, Here’s what he has said about it.

Sometimes we say things without even considering others can misunderstand what we said because it is clear to us. Then we get a chance to clear up misunderstandings. In these days people no longer has that right, I think it goes both ways and it makes society worse. We should all strive to be better than that.

I can't imagine being in a relationship with someone who's sound asleep. Sounds lonely. I also think there are dire spiritual consequences to one's slumbering. Akin to a benzo addict for whom it would be better for someone to intervene, even though an addict wouldn't want that. Wake him up. Slowly, gently and lovingly.
As far as the border fence goes. Money is fungible and therefore there's no way to prove or disprove whether or not they paid for the fence. It's a drop in the bucket though. A completely unimportant point that sounds as if he's grasping at straws.

Believe me, I've tried that approach. It always leads back to TDS. I've asked her questions like, "Are you afraid that you may be wrong? I'm not mentioning these things to steal your pride or dignity at all." and "Why are you so afraid of me showing you a few things that may show you the true nature of what's really going on?" Ive brought things up, like missing fertilizer, train derailments, food processing plant fires, the constant flip-flop and misdirection about the covid scam (oh man, this one is totally off-limits, and is vaxxed and boosted. I wonder if her OR her kids will even be around in the next few years. She works in the medical field. 'nuff said). I've tried everything. I'm seriously at my end.
