What has happened to my Corps? In my day, these punks would have had to call up a few dozen more to make it even. There certainly wouldn't have been a 'marine' lying in the fetal position covering his head. We would have gotten injuries for sure, but those punks would think twice next time they confronted a Marine. Semper Fi

I don't settle issues with physical violence. So if I am attacked, I assume my life is in danger. I fight to live meaning ball yanks and other "dirty moves" are on the table.
I know we are talking about California here...of which I am a resident, but against an out of control mob of 40 plus animals...some probably hyped up on drugs...I doubt any amount of training would have been completely effective. Hand to hand combat against multiple assailants is NOT like the movies. The ONLY solution to this kind of mob violence is a gun! Plain and simple...Too bad one of those Marines wasn't packing (legally of course)! As soon as it looked like they were coming after him, he could have just drew his weapon and it would have been all over and most likely no one would have been hurt. Those punks would have scattered like the nest of cockroaches they are!

The Mexicans in Denver used to light fireworks at night all summer. Combat veterans have described fireworks as triggering, and not in a snowflake way. These “marines” don’t seem like combat vets but maybe they’re sympathetic to other marines who come back to the world and get jumpy around explosive noises.
The fight started when a little Mexican came up from behind a guy who was walking away and punched him in the back of the head, then quickly ran back into the Mexican’s crowd. That’s two dishonorable actions right off the bat. So when the punched guy turned around, he should’ve realized he was dealing with dishonorable people and understood that he needs to be able to beat them all down to make it worth engaging with the one Mexican who sucker punched him. If he’s not that good of a fighter (few are), he should’ve kept walking away from the crowd instead of charging in to try to get the one Mexican.
When did the Marines Stop teaching hand to hand combat???
This really should not have happened, they should have had the Skills to make the Kills, but their Drill Instructors and other cadre obviously left them hanging in the wind....
I guarantee, I know of some old Marines who would plow through that group like they weren't even there....

Maybe, but odds are they weren't Combat Related, probably more like Paper Pushers and such....
In the Infantry, and Combat Related, the mentality is to fight until the enemy is no longer able to DO anything at all....
