This actually is the first time that I've seen this, I've only heard rumors before.
They didn't put that picture in my 6th grade social studies textbook.
I'm shocked if they included an account of Tianenmen Square AT ALL in your 6th grade social studies textbook. I'm assuming that no schools these days really teach "social studies."

Case in point with the aggressive promotion of Right Western Truth.
My friend was really sick of throwing off one of Those Most Standard Pictures About Tiananmen to him, emphasizing "You see, here is evidence that there were mountains of corpses," that he took it apart under a magnifying glass.
In the picture, it turns out, there is not a single corpse, right. All people in the photo are alive at the time of the photo. Only bicycles lie lifeless. Tiananmen Square Bicycle Massacre.

The media is giving two different stories, one story in which the protestors were violent and one where they were not. You get your information from the media, choosing to believe one version over another, choosing to believe what they are lying about. This is intellectual dishonesty to continue to hold onto one story because it aligns with your views in the face of contradicting narratives.

Did I say that no one died? I said that it is stupid to believe that a military parade would randomly decide to shoot people for no reason.
The media and educational system portrays this as a naked act of aggression by a military parade, like they portray Hitler's actions as naked acts of aggression. You are sadly deluded if you think this is what happened and there isn't more to this.

This happened just as I graduated from high school. I remember seeing tank man on the news but didn't hear about the massacre until long after and never saw the photos before now. I heard that the tanks drove over the people and crushed them. The photo shows that that might have happened. Very sad.
I had the distinct impression at that time Western MSM was actively trying to spin it into a revolution. That was my first inkling that MSM were liars...

Yes it did. We followed it day by day. There were a million students there for weeks. The massacre happened because the CCP wanted to end it and they weren't about to give them any democratic reforms. Yes, the Chinese will kill other Chinese in droves.
