That's the key right there. When you go to the store to make a purchase, what do you get? A paper receipt that tells you what you purchased, how much money you spent, and the amount of sales tax you paid. In other words, a record of your purchase.

Should be computerized vote ballot which with a code, you can see your votes.
3-part tear-apart paper ballot
Left ---- the vote
Middle ---- the voter's receipt you take home
Right ---- voter info with signature.
The forensic tears can match up all 3 parts if needed ---- the voter takes home the missing puzzle piece in the middle that connects the other two.
All can easily be faked, which is part of what this whole gauntlet has been designed to prove. The solution is to remove the human element completely from elections via blockchain voting. As the past 6 years have demonstrated, no human can be trusted to administer elections impartially.
You tear it at the time you vote i.e. a random one-time pad.
How in the hell could you fake that?
I would like to know.
Personally, I like your idea.
It would be a "many eyes" approach
If a voting block looked bad you could alert the voters in that block to check their vote.
You would have the receipts with forensic matches.
Canvasing would show fraud in a heartbeat.
The solution is to remove the UNSEEN element.
All of the raw data (vote marks) needs to be human readable.
Exactly.
replace code with ---- lot number and a paper tear match ---- a tear that will match your receipt.
This way you can stay anonymous yet still have a positive ID.
Yes, exactly. And the ballots can be randomly checked to see that what appears is how it is counted.
"Show us that you voted Democrat and get a free donut!"
"Show us that you voted Democrat or get kicked out of your low income housing!"
"Show me that you voted Democrat or me and my Antifa pals are gonna mess you up!"
This is why voting receipts are a bad idea.
Sadly probably true
I get it, paper receipts would leave open the possibility of outside influence and harassment, but they would be a very good hedge against election fraud. The reason why the deep state can so easily manipulate the vote is because they know there is no voter record.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about some kind of physical voting record, just not receipts with how people voted. Sorry if I came across as negative!
I understand what you're saying, but I see no other way to end election fraud and the subsequent tyranny that we're in for.
What if the validation cost more that the vote bribe is worth?
Say it takes weeks ----- by a human ---- to validate/prove one vote?
Votes are being bought even without this ability anyway.
We need to have a HUMAN READABLE receipt.
Barcodes/QRcodes can be hacked.
Absolutely NO Barcodes/QRcodes
we have elections, but not selections. we don't get to select who we vote for anymore, the computers & their programmers do....
Can we do the thumb ink thing too?
I don't see why not.
Tally stick ballots
(Carbon paper, serial numbers, like cash)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tally_stick
serial numbers ≠ anonymous voting
see, i think "anonymous voting" is bullshit.
our "representatives" have to vote in public,
so why shouldn't the voters votes be made public?
anonymous voting is impossible to verify.
to put another way,
can you prove that any vote you ever cast, counted the way you wanted it to count?
I just presented a method for the voter to verify their vote in an anonymous system.
Ever see door-prize or raffle tickets that are torn in half?
The tear match is the verification.
I like a paper record for us to carry. If there's a discrepancy, we the people maintain an element of control.
I have recipes but only show I voted, not who I voted. So they could changed whatever they want. That’s why second I just use paper ballot, still the same, but at least there r paper somewhere real record
Yes, I agree. It should state how you voted, and have a number that is attached to the ballot.
You want anonymous voting.
I suggest anonymous within group of 100 (or so)
and have a forensic tear --- to match to your receipt.
In other words --- I know I voted in lot 47 (100 per lot) and my tear looks like this (images posted online)
I can check my vote while staying anonymous.
I would have to sort through 100 tears to find mine.
serial numbers ≠ anonymous voting
ok, but only you would have the 'receipt', so not sure how anyone observing the voter rolls would match that number to yours, and therefore expose the anonymity. A numbered receipt would simply allow a voter to check owntheir vote, to see that it has not changed.
.... and the machine that generates the number
