Until late last year I was convinced the military was about to roll in anytime a big story broke. Now I see that sort of thinking as counterproductive hopium that leads only to chronic letdown and fatigue.

Soooo, since you are educated, how many chemtrail flights per day are required to account for four persistent chemtrans above 30,000 chemtrail believers houses come on five continents, everyday? 2000? 5,000? Are they commercial airlines, or military, or what? How come we have no photos of these aircraft??
Could it be that your belief and chemtrails comes from the fact that you are a mechanical engineer and not a meteorologist? Meteorology is weird. Persistent Chemtrails will be persistent until the atmosphere that they are in changes pressure or humidity, period. They contrail suddenly disappearing like they do happens when the jet suddenly penetrates into a new block of air that has change in the humidity or temperature of the air the plane is flying through. If it moves into drier or warmer air, the ice crystals can evaporate, causing the contrail to abruptly stop. So, it's more about the airplane changing its location relative to the weather conditions rather than anything happening to the plane itself.
Yes, there are walls of extremely different air just waiting up there that you can't see. They are the lines on the weather maps that we call fronts.
We run into this effect sometimes when we are swimming, have you ever been swimming in a lake and suddenly your feet are just freezing? You feel like you could walk on the water down there, it's so different, so dense feeling. That's because it's a totally different temperature and maybe even a different salinity, for instance, it might have a totally different silt load in it that could cause it to basically operate like its own layer of water. This is the reason why Lakes up here in Canada look green or blue like they do, it has to do with this sudden difference making it function kind of like a lens to the light that hits the lake. I know that doesn't sound like an explanation for contrails but that's what you're seeing here with this airplane. He's very suddenly passing into a different layer...
What these chemtrail clips roaming around the internet is that we have too many mechanical engineers and not enough polymaths, people with the logical reasoning capability to reason THIS: If these airplanes are flying and leaving persistent trails (but sometimes flying and NOT doing so), this means that they would have to have the ability to control the chemtrails, but the spray still comes out of the engine nozzle? We have to follow this logic down. If that's the case, then it's not in the jet fuel. Yet we all we see contrails coming from the engines. This would require the equipment to the inside the engine. This means that Pratt and Whitney, Rolls-Royce, GE, CFM (they make all the 737 engines we see here, WestJet, etc), all these manufacturers are in on it.

And so it goes. The conspiracy makes no sense, but once someone "snsrt" believes it, it's really hard to get past the cutsie "don't believe your lying eyes" logic they have that drives it.
There is periodic spraying of something going on. I would not call it chemtrails because I don't want to use CIA psyop language. The planes are military, appear to be turbofan powered and the spray nozzles appear to be attached to the wings near the engines. They do not appear to be IN the engines. In my area it typically takes 6 airplanes doing a single passes to create a checkerboard sort of pattern. The end result of the spraying appears to be accelerated cloud formation. Unclear if they are doing cloud-seeding or something else.
Whatever is being sprayed starts out very condensed and then it disperses gradually to the point where the original spray path is no longer visible. It appears to take about 2 hours of very slow, fairly high altitude, likely above 30k feet for the planes to complete their mission. These are not commercial flights or at least they are NOT shown as commercial flights on plane trackers. Some of the planes show up as military on ADS-B, but type of aircraft sometimes does not match what I'm seeing. The operations appear to occur during the week, and on crystal clear days the planes are not noticed until late morning after 8am. I rarely see them operating on Sunday.
OK, so 1)why NO photos, 2) how does this answer any of the lar major issues I'm raising, and 3) so it's not commercial jets?

Your issues are valid. Addressing the engine thing: it appears the spray is getting sprayed into the high thrust exhaust for maximum velocity dispersion. It does not look like it is going through the engine, and injecting from inside engine would interfere with combustion process and/or reduce thrust by lower temperature delta required for thrust of the last turbine stages,
Planes appear to be military gray livery, likely Air Force. They look like 4x turbofan engine refueling tanker planes to me which are all derived from commercial jet designs.
I am still studying what is going on. I don’t think the planes are the only source of potential contaminants, and I am skeptical it is a constant, continuous thing. It appears to be periodic and geographically targeted. “Chem-trails” is likely not really an accurate description as various things may be getting dispersed and the dispersal mechanism (some sort of fluid) is not necessarily the payload.

Did you know that aircraft derivative turbine engines such as the one from the 767 is already in use on the ground to run generators? It's called cogen, and that it's a great way for the oil plants and refineries and remote locations to supplement their electricity needs when the risk of getting cut off from the greatest too great. I have an intimate, intimate understanding of these engines and the issues surrounding them because I created training for how to run them.
Your actually imagining a process that exists in certain use cases for turbines. It's called "mass injection." This technique involves injecting a fluid, often water or a water-alcohol mixture, into the turbine's exhaust stream to decrease the amount of air exhausted and capturing more energy inside the turbine (so that more energy is harvested in the generator the engine is driving).
Two problems. One, this reduces the engine's useful thrust projected towards the rear (to drive the airplane) forward, making it unusable for an airliner or even any kind of aircraft expected to take to the sky. Two, water alcohol tanks are massive. They get the water from local wells or the plant supply, they just have to park the alcohol, but we are still talking about tons and tons and tons. It's just ridiculous thinking this is happening up in the air, especially secretly.
The airlines are incredibly sensitive to weight in their aircraft. The airline that I worked for removed the seat back entertainment units because of the weight. The idea that they really carrying tons and tons of liquid for injection is just ludicrous. I know you're thinking about military, but, this conspiracy doesn't say that. It shows planes in commercial liveries spraying.
I've been employed as a hands-on ME for 30 years and with the same large industrial company for 25. I don't claim to be a meteorologist or completely understand how molecules of anything released high into the atmosphere will settle on the ground and where. Like you explained, I do understand that there are different atmospheric currents (felt as turbulence on planes) and varying pressures and temperatures (nice lake analogy). Yes, contrails are dependent on the many various conditions in the atmosphere.
I agree with you that the combustion turbines (also included in my employers portfolio) are NOT fitted to dispense any spray or chemical. It's hard enough to keep the turbines running long periods without adding more variables & chemicals to their internals.
Other than cloud seeding (which I think is also risky and unnecessary) and fire fighting, I don't see a legitimate reason to outfit planes with the ability to spray anything over our heads.

You've lived 72 years. Now describe the changes in aviation over that history. Were planes flying nonstop from Perth to London, from Sydney to New York, NON-STOP, when you were a teenager? Or were people travelling by jet by the MILLIONS (there were 38.9 million FLIGHTS in 2019) when you were a teenager?

I may be wrong, and he did not answer, but I assumed when he said disappear he didn't mean end abruptly behind the plane as it traveled.
I think what he was referring to was actually how some disipate quickly verses some linger for a long time.
Air and water stratify on temperature. That could account for why some contrails last a long time and others seem to disperse quickly. I haven't bought into the chemtrail thing, nor totally dismissed it. I suspect it might just be another FE type diversion to make us look like idiots. I just don't know enough about those type things to make a call, yet.
At cruise, planes get stacked generally from flight level 29 - 39. That's 10k feet of the stratosphere, and we can see levels with conditions that allow trails to persist stacked on layers that don't, plus a lot of 'roiling' or mixing between the layers that create boundaries which would allow the stop and start behaviour all the time.
Must feel like you're beating your head against a wall at times.

These people don't reason. This is an elite research board. These people seem to have gotten lost on their way to their bleacher seats. The mod team has no problem moving them to the sidelines where they belong.
