Michigan House passes bill that could make using wrong pronouns a felony, fineable up to $10,000
The Michigan state House of Representatives passed HB 4474, making it a felony to "intimidate" someone of a protected class with inclusions for gender identity and expression. The fine can rise up to $10,000.
Are there Any sane people in Michigan?
We're all in the deep rural areas. Eastern MI, with the exception of a few pockets of frens, is an utter commie toilet.
Rural areas, yes.
Ted Nugent?
Apparently Lennon lives there.
?
Miles Mathis has a long article on John Lennon faking his death and living in Michigan.
I've read it long ago but didn't remember that detail. Thanks.
I guess not.
A very good article on Justice Gorsuch commenting on the dissent in the recent SCOTUS ruling on free speech -
https://greatawakening.win/p/16bid7j16P/8-straightfire-quotes-from-neil-/c/
From the article: "2. State-enforced speech is a blatant violation of the First Amendment.
If [Ms. Smith] wishes to speak, she must either speak as the State demands or face sanctions for expressing her own beliefs, sanctions that may include compulsory participation in ‘remedial . . . training,’ filing periodic compliance reports as officials deem necessary, and paying monetary fines. … Under our precedents, that ‘is enough,’ more than enough, to represent an impermissible abridgment of the First Amendment’s right to speak freely."
6". The Constitution calls for tolerance of others’ speech and religious expression, not state-enforced coercion.
Of course, abiding the Constitution’s commitment to the freedom of speech means all of us will encounter ideas we consider ‘unattractive,’ … ‘misguided, or even hurtful’ … But tolerance, not coercion, is our Nation’s answer. The First Amendment envisions the United States as a rich and complex place where all persons are free to think and speak as they wish, not as the government demands."
8". The Constitution trumps all.
[T]his Court has also recognized that no public accommodations law is immune from the demands of the Constitution. In particular, this Court has held, public accommodations statutes can sweep too broadly when deployed to compel speech. … When a state public accommodations law and the Constitution collide, there can be no question which must prevail."
This witch's spell is DOA, thanks to SCOTUS. Also, this witch looks like her "ambrosia " supply is low.
I am so glad the courts are standing up for the constitution now. It's looking like we are getting back to the basic.
Republicans get to chose the allowable pronouns. That would only be fair.
LOL
Is the pictured person a guy? Chin and shoulders suggest so. That’d also explain the post.
edit: the article mentions « if that person maliciously… » so just pretend you were educated in the XXth Century.
LOL. He/She/It, choose one.
Hi Fren!🤗
I ‘d choose « this ».
LOL. Good choice.
it means « whatever » whilst this means « that very situation we need to confront ».
If you live around there, go there and maliciously called them names. Then drive across state line. They cannot fine you across state line.
That’s quite fooked oop.🤭
Of course. I know how to get them really mad. LOL
I wonder how all the Muzzies in Michigan are going to react to this kind of legislation?
I don't know. I hope they pulled her down and never let her be in charged again.
Michigan. The only state I've ever been to where they have to put a do not turn left sign at the end of a highway on ramp. It probably won't be too much longer before they have cameras installed in every Michigan toilet to make sure people are wiping their asses in the proper direction. Unbefuckinglievable.
In Michigan we were driving down a road and without any warning the road ended and we flew into a cornfield...what a strange experience that was...I never trusted that Michigan road signs were adequate after that...
I believe it! Reminds me of a time when I was in New York in unfamiliar territory driving an 18-wheeler where I swear somebody was stealing all of the road signs. What a horrible experience!
Wow. Incredible.
Short story from Michigan. Spouse and I were in a Bob Evans. We had notice several occasion prior that they had hired a he/she/it. We didn't really care one way or another but this one visit I had my head down looking at the menu. He/she/it approached the table speaking as he/she/it got closer. I gave my drink order and based on the voice said "Thank you sir". I tell you this because under this bill I would be prosecuted. This isn't even the most asinine thing these idiots are dreaming up. They'er coming for you next. Ignore our downfall at your peril
Not ignoring at all. That's why we are bringing this to this community to make sure people wake up and fight back.
This is false
Until people understand the difference between a "suggestion" (statute) and a "law" and whether or not they apply to you, they ain't gonna stop.
How did we collectively forget that our "representative's" only function was to ensure the smooth operation of the business of government and not to make up rules and suggestions that curtailed the freedoms of their bosses?
just like our vaccine mandate and a law. Thanks for the reminder.
