A comprehensive study has found that no Amish children have been diagnosed with chronic conditions that impact the rest of America.

That, my dear ones, is a CONTROL GROUP!!!!! It meets all the criteria for an actual control group, and cannot be ignored.

Actually it does not. Amish groups are not all the same. Some do use physicians, some do not. Some only use the will of God to heal their ills.

"Using a physician" is different than "injecting a ton of chemicals into your body".

A physician (and other doctors) can do a lot of things unrelated to medication. If you get a proper splint for your finger for example (yes, you can do this yourself, but I am trying to make a simple point) you are not somehow increasing your risk for cancer just because a physician did it instead of you.

Incorrect. They do use physicians, board certified MD's and D.O.'s. They certainly do not use them in the same capacity as the rest of the population who run to the doctor for any and every minor symptom, and they rarely acquire obesity--related illnesses.

Not all Amish are alike.

Taken from https://www.amishbaskets.com/

Healthcare practices and treatments vary a lot between different Amish communities. Communities often have different ways of going about their healthcare.

Some communities accept modern medicine and go to hospitals and doctors, while others prefer to deal with their health issues at home.

Of course not. No human beings on Planet Earth are alike. I'm not Amish, but more often than not, I personally deal with my health issues. In that respect, they are no different than I. The majority of non-Amish have no clue how "to deal.with their health issues at home." There's a prescription drug for everything. There's a doctor visit for everything. In any event, the Amish population is a gazillion times more healthier than us.

Amish refuse most vaxes.

It's about 50/50 who refuse them and who take them. They are pushed hard on most Amish just as others. Some are awake and refuse others are just as blind as the average American.

I worked at a Children's Hospital for several years. The Amish were constantly there and paid in cash. Don't know what exactly each family was there for. I believe a lot of the issues the kids had were from inbreeding.

Yes. I've seen them there too. They have lots of rare diseases that are just as debilitating as autism. On the upside, one of them handed me a detailed booklet years ago waiting if the mark of beat microchip system in the waiting room.

Wondering.... who are their doctors ?

permalink save report block reply
▲ 8 ▼
– 13Buddha 8 points 2 years ago +8 / -0

They see physicians, and there are MD's who devote their practice to treat the Amish. The Amish do not have health insurance. They pay cash.

Most Amish babies are delivered in their homes or birthing centers by certified RN midwives.

I imagine Their cannabis growers and extract preparers serve a portion of the role

I am unaware of cannabis use in adults, CBD products, yes, but the youth do experiment once they turn 16 and join a "Youth Group." This is a designated time for them to intermingle on a social level, to "sow their oats" so to speak. It is also a time for them to either commit or not to officially and religiously join the Amish community, and that is accomplished with Baptism. Baptism normally occurs at age 18 or 19.

I live in a rural area that has a fairly large amish community, my dad has many amish neighbors. Last year my mom was put in hospice and came home to die. The neighbors were kind and supportive. I'd also add I do most of my shopping in their stores. The meat is fresh and wholesome, the butter is not tainted with "natural flavorings" and the eggs are delicious. There are 3 amish stores here and each one has their own specialty with some cross over products, 1 is a greenhouse , 1 is like a pharmacy and the other is like a super center and then of course there is the saw mills, furniture stores and other services.

And they pretty much only eat the locally grown/raised food. So the question is, is it the food, the lack of vaccinations, or a combination of both?

Add also their lack of electronics, EMF, cell phones etc.

I was going to post that :)

I'm thinking that the cell phone industry will some day face the same scrutiny as the tobacco industry. Knowing the harm, but making too much money to care, and any penalties a minimal dent in the profits.

I bought stickers that supposedly stop or lower EMF from cell phones/iPads/MacBooks and a usb stick for the whole house. I don’t have an EMF detector so I’m going off of reviewers (who are hopefully real people) who say it works. It brings me a false sense of security at least 🤷🏼‍♀️

I bought an EM meter when we were house hunting a couple years ago. I had always heard that the high voltage power lines are a concern. They may be, but the EM strength varies as a square of distance, so it drops off pretty fast. What I did find out is that regular street power lines produce a high EM signal at the houses near them. Cell phones have a different electromagnetic characteristic (I can't remember the difference between the straight magnetic field from power lines and the cell phone energy). My conclusion is that the EM affects from power lines is probably very, very low, or there would be widespread health effects, since the street power line signals are high for so many houses.

This is just not true. I have lived among the Amish in three states since 2008 and they DO have these chronic health issues as well, in lower numbers, true, but that is also because they only Vax at 50-60%, I'd venture based on talking with families.

I’m not disputing this study, just adding some insight. My experiences. My family used to live in rural MD and the Amish used to park their buggies at Wawa and come out with all kinds of junk or be in line with you with same type food. I’m skeptical about the no diabetes thing. They’re not necessarily completely homemade/grown and natural. We saw many overweight Amish ppl. They’d come to our community garage sales. All shapes and sizes and some smoked cigs, pipes and I’d say it’s hard to make any assumptions they’re rigidly strict about their way of life.

That said, we used to go to some of their local bakeries or markets and they had THE best desserts and stuff. Outstanding. We went to a big Amish furniture place once and they make incredible things. Fireplaces, you name it. I wish we had that down in FL. They were on laptops and they actually have a lot of online presence selling things.

They have this thing, rumspringa where the adolescents are expected to “sow their wild oats” and basically party for months until they decide whether or not to continue in the Amish tradition/life and let me tell ya, I have partied with them and they can put away some beer etc. Anyway, just some random recollections. Pretty cool people, overall.

They don't look for autism the way Western medicine does. There's this new book, The Autism Industrial Complex, that documents how modern medicine has turned this diagnosis into a commodity that feeds into the industry to fix autism. The Amish just don't participate in the screeners and such that everyone just mildly quirky is on some imaginary spectrum.

Do you guys remember the big deal made over the courts trying to force that Amish girl to get cancer treatments? And her family had to flee the country for a while! Does anyone know what ever happened with that? It's been a long time ago

Her family took her to Mexico for cancer treatment and returned when she was cancer free. Because she no longer needed any treatment, the court dismissed the case and she stayed with her family, despite the histrionics of CPS.
