Some drugs have multiple trade names, one for each company that shares patent rights to produce it under exclusivity. When a drug is around long enough for companies to start producing generic versions, the generics will be called by the drug name, NOT the trade name.
Veklury = trade name
Remdesivir = drug name
Doctors and pharmacists will sometimes use the names interchangeably, and that can be confusing to people. Veklury and Remdesivir are the same drug.
