I have told this before, but last year I broke my leg and my rehab roommate was in tough shape with broken ribs and back. She and her husband were riding their new $3600 tandem bike when all of a sudden the lithium battery exploded, sending her into a ravine, her husband fell on top of her and the bike on them both. It blew up with no provocation. Lithium batteries are very dangerous.
Don't buy cheap chinese shit. I also sort of feel that if you buy a tandem electric bike, the universe is just going to put a target on your backs for doing something so apparently foolish.
It was damaged, so a fire could start at any time.
Be wary of any cheap products that have lithium batteries. There are compilations on youtube showing these things spontaneously combusting. Hover boards, ebikes, battery packs, etc.
I imagine if we had a solar flare of any consequence there would be a dozen small fires in each home from lithium battery devices such as phones etc. all completely non extinguishable until they burned out.
Solar flare causes grid overvoltage. Any cheap Li Ion battery connected to a cheap charger without any built in protection is going to catch that surge.
Remote detonation may already be a thing via a hidden self-destruct feature in the car’s software that only people with a high enough pay grade can access. In the future, when everyone is forced to drive e-vehicles or walk, the elites can blow up anyone who has the wrong political views and poses a threat to them and they can simply pass it off as a faulty “accident”.
Although the spontaneous lithium battery fire thing is a legit issue. In this case, the photos and video look more like the D E W type of fires. How can the fire melt/destroy part of a car but not the rest. These car burns look similar to the cars in the Paradise and Maui fires.
The horrifying deaths to come, needlessly caused by explosions from electric vehicle batteries; is extremely sorrowful. Dying by fire is a horrific way to go. I will never buy an EV. I wouldn't accept one if it was given to me. The makers of these cars, have blood on their hands.
Weird, so I'm not understanding the story. It says there had been a problem with the car and the battery was removed. If it was removed, how did the fire start? Then in the same sentence, we believe the car suffered mechanical damage which can contribute to a battery breaking down and catching fire, huh? Wtf? Is anyone else confused or am I the sole dumbass?

Hope your friends are okay, though.

This is exactly why lithium batteries are not allowed to be checked in with luggage at an airport.
Solar flare igniting lithium batteries? I’ve not heard this before, do you have more info?

Won't happen because the cabal is on it's last leg and an overwhelming amount of people are now awake.
((They)) can blow them up whenever they want...

yup, eventually someone will hack into them, pay grade won't matter.
Holy shit! That would have been a disaster in a parking garage.
Li batteries need to be pulled off the market. They have safer polymer gel batteries that do the same thing but are not at risk of explosion.
$$$$$$$
When the Prez motorcade go EV only then will I consider it.....NOT.
Well, those idiots already are trying to change the military to use EVs, stupidest idea ever, unless you are trying to destroy the USA from within.

Not happening. I'll run my car on straight 100% ethanol (moonshine) with a touch of 2cycle oil to lube the valves.
Exploding electric cars?
That's just part and parcel
I don’t see any melted aluminium nor glass.
Good point.👍

Insurance must be a bitch- imagine the cost of replacing the flammable, earth raping battery car AND the surrounding cars it destroyed? Oof

Battery was detached and left in a parking lot?? How the hell did that happen?
