It is always flooding somewhere in the US, and here in the southwest we are suffering through drought conditions.
Just maybe instead of spending billions fighting foreign wars, and giving away more billions in foreign aid this country could have been creating a water pipeline system capable of transporting that excess water to areas in need of it.
Yuck! Hepatitis, all those water-borne gastrointestinal diseases, leptospirosis from all those huge rats, not to mention all those chemicals and all that filth.
What's frightening about this flooding on the FDR is that ALL OF THIS WATER IS FROM RAIN. There was no storm surge today. Zero. In the coming storms, we'll get massive rain plus a storm surge and the border between the river and the land will disappear.
Some parts show the underground tunnels have water leaking out of the walls. I am suspicious of sewer sabotage but I don't have much to go off of right now.
