East Europeans, who experienced the brutality of the red army all recall that the public was duped in believing those terrible edicts were temporary and things would soon return to back to normal. Everyone should take the time to study the Scriptures, particularly regarding what is to happen before the end of the world comes, so that they won't be deceived. Here's an except from Matthew 24, which I recommend everyone read the whole chapter.

I've backed away from all the propaganda of the other side of the world. Sick of hearing about Israel and Hamas. I really don't care. We've got our own problems right here. People dying daily from the gang terrorists in our cities. We can pray for our brothers and sisters around the world. They don't need my money as much or more than I do.

Just speak to Jesus through your heart. Admit your a sinner, ask for his free gift of forgiveness, turn from your sin, and seek Him in all you do. His Holy Spirit will guide you to Him. His word, the Bible, represents thousands of years of direct interaction with man for you to learn about who He is and about His attributes. He still speaks to us through it. Seek Him and He will reveal Himself to you.
