I got my dog when she was a year old. Shes had whatever shots those people got her. With me,shes had the rabies shot once when i first got her. Only reason she got that was cuz she took off and got caught by the dog catcher.

She dont see the vet unless its an emergency or her sk8n issues pop up. Shes perfectly healthy and happy.

Nice to hear. I have a Dingo and he is 16. He can still hike 10 miles. No vaccines since he has been with me.

You and me both. I wish I could have interfered with the puppy shots before I had him. Fortunately, there are way more vets out there who don't force vaccines to see your dog should your dog require care.

It'still hard to find a trustworthy vet though. I thought I liked mine until she tried to prescribe him brovecto flea poison when he was there for a (turned out to be minor) respiratory illness. That shit. Holy cats, via ingestion it goes under the skin of your pet and stays there for a time, poisoning fleas to the point of death if they bite. How can anyone think that a good idea? Screw all western medicine.

I love my vet. He was the head vet fir the local zoo before he opened his animal hospital. He took care of our horses for years. Took care of my animals since the day he opened shop.

I call him up,he comes right to my house.takes care of whatever the problem is and never charges me a dime.

The A-hole vets in New England were still only offering "curb side" pet drop off and still wearing masks this time last year.

▲ 3 ▼
– 94f450d 3 points 2 years ago +3 / -0

My vet himself told me the masks were useless and the only reason they wear them is to keep shit from falling out of thier nose or mouths into an open wound while doing surgery.

I had to call him for myself to get antibiotics for an infection under a finger nail. I couldnt go anywhere else cuz i refuse to wear a mask.

Don't know where you live, but unfortunately, here in southern USA, life is miserable if you don't give your dog flea prevention. It doesn't get cold enough, long enough in Louisiana to kill fleas/larvae/eggs in the winter to reduce numbers in the spring and summer. Dogs with a flea infestation get tape worms from biting the fleas to kill them then swallowing them. Flea infestation can cause several other health issues for your pet as well.

Fleas and ticks stay away from our pets because of what we fed them. No kibbles, just raw and I add Turmeric, Garlic and Onion Powder to their raw food. As for heartworms, DE, Artemesia, and Ivermectin took care of them.

Got a puppy of a Rottweiler, and a 16 years old Dingo. They both play with each other. Once a while, the ticks have to be pulled but most just died and dried up.

I dont listen to much of what "they" say. I remember my parents giving the dogs garlic pills for worms or something when i was a kid.

My vet said the same thing about chocolate. They can have little bits of it here and there.

My dogs have always eaten whatever im eating.they always get table scraps in thier food. My current dog eats more people food than she does dog food, spoiled mutt. She eats better than me some days.

Everyone who comes to the house think the dogs eat better than any humans because most of us are vegetarians and the dogs eat the meat. Yes, they are spoiled.

Sorry to hear all that, but there has to be a better way. Poison that settles just under the skin is bad. Even the FDA put out a warning about it, and we know what it takes for them to get involved in a product like that.

For some reason,my dog dont get fleas. Ive found maybe 4 on her in the 10+ years that ive had her.but ticks are another story.

Ive found that the flea/tick stuff that comes in the tube and you put a dot on thier neck and tail or you run a stripe down thier back works great. As soon as i find a tick,i put the stuff on her and never find another for the season.

I use that more than the pills myself. I did have one dog years ago that couldn't use it. She broke out in horrible rash/hives if I put it on her

My frenchie only has her initial shots from the breeder, recently moved to NH and the vet tried to get me to give her a rabies bc the state will come down on me. I don't care, that's better than dealing with a vax injured dog

I have been feeding my dogs a carnivore diet. Both dogs get 7 oz of meat a day. I do cook it. One dog is 30 lbs, the other is younger and more active at 18 pounds. The 30 pound dog would constantly be hurting her joints, and limp around for days at a time. I was really concerned about her as she is a long bodied dog, and I was worried she may hurt her back. Now, she is like a different dog. She is getting up on the backs of the couch, jumping off the arm of the couch, She has also lost 2 pounds, but is so much more muscular.

The other thing that doesn’t make sense is why would 150 pound dog get the exact same vaccine as a 5 pound dog?

permalink save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– swimkin 4 points 2 years ago +4 / -0

Before I knew the dangers of vaccines I had a two lb toy poodle puppy who was given a rabies shot. He ended up having a reaction to the shot. His ears puffed up, scabbed over and it was like someone put stitches around both ears. The within a week later the fur fell off around his vaccine site and never returned.

Bc it was rabies I had him vaxxed one more time in the same site the following year but had the vet give him a shot of Benadryl before his rabies vax. And I waited in the office for an hour just in case he had a bad reaction such as throat closing up. He didn’t but he did have the same reaction with his ears and fur. Just not as bad. After that he was vaccine exempt.

The hard part was finding a groomer for him who would groom him without a rabies shot. He grew up to only 6 lbs.

When we moved south I had a vet tell me he could be put down by a man animal control officer or be held in Quarantine at their discretion if he ever bit anyone. The area had rabies break out on occasion unlike the other areas. Since my dog could get snappy if hurt I ended up taking him to a holistic vet. He gave him a small dose (1/3rd) of a different rabies vax so he could give him a rabies certificate. He even said the state and local governments mandate size of vaccine regardless of the size of a dog making it harder on toy dogs. They have the most problems with the rabies vax.

We did this until he reached a certain age. My dog lived to 16 years old ended up with congestive heart failure. But I often wonder how old he would have made it to if he never had been vaxxed at all

Had a German Shepherd 1yr old vaxxed for rabies when we moved to rural area. A few months later she developed mammary tumors that were surgically removed. Then died of renal failure by 2yrs old.

My dog had cancer recently and my vet said there has been a significant uptick in canine cancers within their practice and “we don’t know why.” My dog’s cancer was a rare thyroid tumor. Possibly related to Apoquel (anti allergy) med. She also almost died from the kennel cough vax (Bordetella) a few years back and the emergency vet said her dog nearly died from it. I get the impression most vets just keep plodding along with their usual vax recommendations because.. money.

I've had trouble getting dogs from shelters. They want the name of our vet so they can call and check how often we bring our animals in. Just like the hospitals, bring your child in with a broken arm and the first question they ask, "are they up to date on their shots?"

"Yes, they are up to date," is my stern answer. Up to date to me is Zero. If I brought someone in with their head falling off, they'd be wanting to update the boosters before saving the life.

We had an opportunity to do that, still may act on it. But I feel like staying hold and be here for the rebuilding. I live on land that the elites want for their playland. They are buying all land that they can to keep people out thru land trusts. The national park near me is imploding internally which puts the local economy (tourism) in danger of collapsing. Then, look, more land for the trust to gobble up. We stumbled onto the place we have, I kinda want to keep it for my kids sake.

I can see why the elites want it, every time I go outside or look out the window, I gasp from the beauty.

I watched my healthy young cat's health deteriorate before my eyes after getting his first (and only) rabies vaccine. He never fully recovered and had chronic, serious health issues thereafter. A holistic vet I later worked with said he and many other old-time veterinarians had observed a serious decline in animals' health (auto-immune diseases, cancers, aggression) following vaccination. He further stated that vaccines are the "bread and butter" of vets and the resulting auto-immune diseases they can't cure, only supress through steroids. Sickening.

The healthy animals only get itchy skin one month usually after the shots. Those with deterioting health will get auto-immune, cancers and others.

We do over vaccinate our pets. My last one was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age 9.5. Very late stage, too late to do anything. Many clues led up to that, the lameness, and pigmentation loss on her nose and the pink lips which was also a sign of auto immune disorder. Her parents are still living: Sire age 16 and mother age 13 and very healthy. They only received their puppy shots and a rabies each year to keep the sheriff off their lawn.

I did everything I thought was right, good food, lots of exercise and whatever shots the vet recommended. My heart still aches for that lovely girl.

The new puppy received her puppy shots, but no more except rabies. "Most" diseases that our pets come down with can be treated at home. Test for heartworm in the spring and possibly end of summer. Titer testing to see if puppy shots are still effective. All of this is expensive, my vet will still love me :) and hopefully have a healthy dog for at least 15 years.

Lots of research I continue to do.

I'm not sure how to post articles, but here are 2 I found helpful.

Dogsnaturallymagazine.com might be of interest to you. Holistic veterinary approach. Interesting articles.

Wisconsin veterinary school is “woke.” Sad that even veterinary schools are captured by the DS. Nothing worse than watching ur beloved pets suffer because of veterinary “doctors.” And big pharma treatments/cures/vax’s.

If ur interested, yourolddog.com (Janie) is who cured my dogs when the vet couldn’t (and was making them worse). She is a holistic dog healer and has been my go-to for years now. We need a million more like her…
