Maybe this holiday season is a good time to have that "special talk" with friends and neighbors.

I tell my mon-woke friends that I'm the pig in the brick house, when the wolf comes to their door, don't come to my house, you won't be welcomed.
great metaphor...thank you!
isnt that the exact opposite of what the pig in the brick house did? i think you're mixing that up with the story about ants and grasshoppers
The Mormons got one thing right.
They are required to have one entire year's worth of food stowed away, ready to go, just in case.
Eh, it used to be one year, then three months, and now it is whatever you can.
A lot of cities have made it illegal to stockpile food. And the church doesn't want to push against evil governments -- that's not its job. If I lived in such a place I would leave, and I certainly wouldn't obey such a law contrary to fundamental rights.
For those wondering, when SHTF, the mormons (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) will absolutely help you with food and clothing and shelter... but they will ask you to work. If you do not work, you will not eat. Period. That's the welfare program of the church today, and it will be the welfare program of the church in the future, because that is what the Bible teaches, clearly.
In the end, you will realize you had to power to save yourself through Christ the entire time.
So learn to work, get in shape, store up some food, water, and fuel, and learn a trade or two. Don't be a burden, be a servant of all.
This is the way. It drove me nuts when my bishop said the city was requiring everyone to state what they could provide during an emergency.
I was blown away, this wasn't a church prep, he was warning the families in our ward about the government's request. He made it clear that in an emergency we should all work together & let EQ & Relief Society heads know what was needed & what services we could provide. Also sounded like he was willing to have Aaronic priesthood members go out & get reports once the issue happened because many members already knew the basics of what each other was able to do & who had tool, building, medical & radio knowledge.
I recall our EQ president at that time telling us he didn't want to know how much food storage any of us had & that he hoped we were following decades old council, though we should pray about it individually & prepare for what we needed as the spirit prompted each family. If you were just there transitioning to a new place in a year or two, a year or two of storage fan be alot to move around. If you are staying out of 10+ years, you should likely build up a years worth or more.
My biggest concern with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had been the mass sale of their farmlands to developers in the past 10 years. Land that was fully owned & producing lots of food is being sold. I don't know if they are simply reinvesting in cheaper farmland elsewhere with the sale of older land that is more valuable for developers, it just is an interesting thing to see happen as the local farms we used to serve at are now being developed all across Utah.
Interesting times ahead for sure.
I don't know what is happening with church real estate.
My thoughts are that they are moving assets out of the US as the US is now a communist country, explicitly so.
The writing is on the wall, they are going to try and seize church assets.
I could easily see deep state going that route. Not sure if you are a member, though it was crazy the reactions I got initially when the FBI lovers were caught texting (Lisa to Peter) "are we starting our own little secret combination? "
Most elders who heard it then just brushed it off almost in disbelief. Now they are curious & not suprised that it could be talked about in the open.
It has been interesting to watch attitudes shift over the past decade on awakening type subjects.
I remember the distinct impression when Pres. Nelson told us to read the Book of Mormon again in 2019 (IIRC). I read it, and the Spirit told me "Now they are going to reveal themselves for everyone to see! We have been warned sufficiently!"
I worry sometimes whether I am a member. Yes, I have a temple recommend, but I wonder if the people around me are wolves in sheep's clothing or not. Some of them talk about stuff in a way that I was explicitly warned about. Like teaching absolute loyalty to the prophet, rather than questioning his revelations and seeking spiritual confirmation. Like putting your trust in the experts and deferring to government officials about how we should run our meetings. That sort of alarming stuff.
Like, did you guys NOT read what every prophet has ever said about how prophecy works, and how we are supposed to receive instruction from the church leadership?
Did we just forget, all of a sudden, that we were warned about even the very elect being deceived, or that we should not put our trust in apostles, etc...?
It drives me nuts sometimes, and it's weird how all the "conspiracy theorists" among us are all of a sudden right about everything, all the time.
We had an apostle come to our stake conference, years ago, and ask, "What would you do if you had no more temple, no mission, no stake, no wards, no building? What would you do if the entire church structure disappeared?" He asked how we would rebuild the church, or what we would have to look for as God restores the church? What are the things we can actually put our trust and faith in, and what are the things that are not worthy of our faith?
How deeply was our church infiltrated by satanic forces? Who can we trust?
I wish I could verify the claim that Ezra Taft Benson was pushed down a flight of stairs becuase he bucked the government too much.
I was told that by a guy who was awakening almost 20 years ago, but could only tell me it was a security guy on temple Square that told him. I haven't found anything to collaborate it. Oddly IIRC Benson was the one who started the "Follow the Prophet" movement during a talk to BYU. Though I might be recalling that incorrectly.
I have called them what I heard on a older conference talk (late 60s or 70s on the church site) that talked about wolves in the holy garments of the priesthood. I just can't see Mitt Romney any other way.
I am with you regarding how we were told to always question what we were told & get personal revelation.
Ultimately I am waiting for the one who is going to remove the curse that was set down on the church for treading on the things of God lightly. I need to search D&C to find thst again, though almost (if not all) of that 3rd & 4th generation is dead. I believe my father is the 4th of we count the children alive at that time as 1st generation, otherwise he would be 5th. One mighty & strong is supposed to restore lots of stuff, and with how I see the Ezras Eagle prophecy tied in with multiple other scriptures I am fascinated at how much the stuff in this movement aligns with it all. I haven't found anything that seems more aligned with God yet, though I have been open. God has made it pretty clear that I should remain a card carrying member & that all my searching & learning in decades past simply was to out me on a path to see the truth of this great awakening for what it is.
Had a guy in a split off group tell me about 20 years ago that Christ wouldn't come until after 2020 & told me that the apocrypha books showed that, though they never pointed to 2nd Esdras ch 11-12. I found that via YouTube with guys taking about a Remenant Returned & then the guy who wrote Ezras Eagle. Both gave lots of info ont he subject & I was convinced that Trump would be removed prematurely the same way as Nixon or JFK was. I couldn't fathom voter fraud removing him before his time. Now it is exciting to see how this is playing out. If Biden was already removed, we are likely in the phase where eagle heads have swallowed up each other. Otherwise we are just waiting for the 3 heads to take power.
Either way, it made it clear to me that the US government post Hoover was the beast Daniel had described at the end times & Ezra spelled it out with crazy amounts of mathematical accuracy if we look at time as elected terms.
My brother thinks that the heads will be individuals that vie for power & kill each other, though I am thinking it is the branches of government & that the military may have already swallowed up the legislative head. Though I really don't know, it makes sense via the devolution theroy.
Good to see another with their heads on square. Again it always bothered me how everything I was raised to understand about how to get personal revelation has been tossed aside & so many just do not question anymore as we have always been encouraged to.
Though in the end, Mormon was told to shut up & no longer preach gospel truths because the people wouldn't listen. I have wondered if we are in a stage like that within our own church & that those who have listened & prepared are the ones to help others as things get even more crazy.
Here is hoping to meeting you fren once the dust settles & Jesus is walking among us again
I believe his message was: when the prophet speaks prophetically, and the spirit confirms, you are duty-bound to follow him. Also, you can trust that God won't allow the prophet to lead the church astray.
Are we even confirmed that he is actually a member? Like, he's not excommunicated? Same for pretty much any member in politics who has obviously been involved with bad stuff.
I find it interesting how it seems like the church is shutting down all sorts of things it used to do, turning it over to the family. The message has been: If you parents are not doing these things at home, we can't do anything about it. Like, people put their faith that the church can fix problems they won't solve for themselves. What happens if the prophet announces that we're just done with the game -- that those who are following the Savior know what to do, and the rest of you all adios, don't bother coming to sacrament meeting as we aren't even doing that anymore or something. Like, from the very beginning we are told that family is #1, the only priority, and church is a vehicle to reclaim families, that's it. What if the church simply stops doing church stuff, and instead only preaches to families?
I've heard so many kooky prophecies throughout the years, I don't know which one is being fulfilled and which one isn't. I can't even read Revelation and make heads or tails of it anymore. I gave up a long time ago trying to map real-world events with prophecy. Besides, if all the news is fake, how are you going to tell what is being fulfilled and what is not?
That day could come. "Folks, that's a wrap. We have nothing more to say. Go home to your families and pray the events pass quickly. Those who have oil, good luck. To the rest, so sorry. See you on the other side."
Yeah, the events leading up to 3rd Nephi 11 are crazy, and parallel so closely with what is going on.
I keep telling people it's time we separate into tribes, for our own protection and benefit, that it's pointless to keep the charade of government going for any longer. Remember why the people just stopped electing chief judges? That's right -- it was all corrupted.
Their volunteers were invaluable in helping clean up after my house was destroyed by hurricane flooding.
That's why I can't knock them too much.
And we'll do it again! Because we're a CULT! AN EVIL CULT THAT CLEANS UP AFTER HURRICANES AND FLOODS!
WATCH OUT HIDE YOUR KIDS HERE WE COME!
In all honesty, most religions and denominations are similar to cults. It's not about the teachers of the law, it's about Christ and those of us that are the body of Christ are the Church. Hands and feet doing good for the least of these. I've often said, Lutheran is my second last name, it only points to where I found Christ, but it's about Christ not being Lutheran
I believe, and our church teaches, that when Christ comes again that there will be many, many people from many different sects of Christianity to greet him.
I have no quarrel with any other Christian sect. I have seen them perform miracles in his name. I have felt the Spirit confirm to me that they are doing the Lord's work and that I should not interfere (and sometimes I should help.)
There is no reason for us to fight one another simply because Christ has called us to different missions in different churches. We are not at war except with Satan.
So I assume you are a Mormon from you post, so I hope you will answer this question: Jesus came ~2,000 years ago to show humans how to live and He died on the cross to pay for our sins, fulfilling the prophecies of the Old Testament, and ending the works and rituals of Jews in regard to salvation. Do you think God would then wait ~1850 years to tell the world how to really live, allowing people to be misinformed in regard to God and His plan for salvation for 1850 years?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accepts the Bible as the word of God. Specifically, for the English-speaking members, we use the KJV.
Not so long ago, someone did a survey of different sects to see who knew the Bible best. Our church won. We know the Bible better than any other sect of Christianity.
Jesus made a lot of promises. Among them was the promise that he will come again. Also, that there would be a "falling away first". If a falling away, then a gathering together again.
This church is the literal gathering prophesied by both the Old and New Testament, when God begins to gather in his elect to prepare to greet him at his coming.
Joseph Smith was prophesied of in both the Old and New Testaments.
The Restoration of the church was also prophesied in many, many different ways.
You are living in that period.
Ask God for direction in your life. If you surrender your life to Christ, he will tell you through the Holy Ghost what to do. I have absolute faith in this, no matter what Christ reveals to you it is the truth.
But you didn't answer my question. And I would be interested in the Bible verses you state in regard to Joseph Smith (I have read completely through the Bible 12 times and have never read any verses that could be remotely related to Joseph Smith; perhaps the interpretation of the verses you may cite are analogous to interpretation of the prophecies of Nostradamus) I once heard a Mormon tell someone that they should let them tell them about Joseph Smith, as if they considered Joseph Smith more important than Jesus.
Let me pull up a few:
Isaiah 29 contains many prophecies fulfilled by Joseph Smith and in his day.
This was fulfilled when Martin Harris brought a manuscript containing some characters from the golden plates and Joseph Smith's translation to Anthon, who confirmed that there were legitimate. When Harris told Anthon that it was translated by the gift and power of God, he recanted.
Also, the one that is unlearned is Joseph Smith. He had a third grade education in the backwoods of New York, and his wife Emma had to write letters for him as he could barely put a sentence together.
v. 13 was quoted verbatim by Jesus when he appeared to Joseph Smith.
v. 14 talks about a marvelous work and a wonder, which has repeatedly referred to the work that Joseph Smith and his successors have done in our scriptures.
It also says "for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid." Joseph Smith, a man who could barely put together sentences, ended up being one of the most prolific writers of his age. You can examine the letters he wrote in his later years. He also founded at least 3 cities, and he founded an entire sect of Christianity that is still, to this day, rapidly growing. He defied all of the worldly understanding of the Bible and brought forward numerous new ideas, all of which comport with the Bible and all of which show God's wonderful power and grace.
The entire chapter of Isaiah 29 reads as basically a description of the age that Joseph Smith lived in and the powerful work that God charged him to do.
Additionally, we read in Ezekiel 37 about the sticks of Judah and Joseph. The Bible, as you know, contains writings preserved by the descendants of Judah AKA the jews. The Book of Mormon, as you probably do not know, was written by descendants of Lehi, who was of the tribe of Joseph. Thus, the writings in the Book of Mormon are for Joseph, and the writings in the Bible are for Judah, and together, in our church, the two come together into one book. The entire chapter refers to the resurrection of dry bones, and then says that the bones are Israel. Joseph Smith restored Israel, or rather, began that process, and the missionaries of our church are still hunting for and finding members of the tribes of Israel who were long lost, or who are adopted through baptism.
These are just two examples from the old testament. There are many, many more that reference Joseph Smith, his life and the events that occurred of which he had a part or role. In addition, the New Testament warns us about false prophets that arise in these days. It doesn't say "disbelieve all prophets" but cautions us against the false ones, who are compared to wolves in sheep's clothing. What are the hallmarks of a true prophet, and what is the message a true prophet will be carrying? Jesus told us that the true shepherd will lay down his life for the flock, an obvious reference to himself, but also those who will take upon themselves that role, and give their own lives in martyrdom throughout the ages, among which Joseph Smith is one.
I know that you don't accept these as prophecies, and think my interpretation is heretical. However, we are not allowed to interpret the scriptures, only the Spirit can do that for us, and the Spirit whispers to me which passages are about Joseph Smith or Jesus Christ or the events that would happen hundreds and thousands of years in the future of the people who received the revelations.
I guess it's all a matter if you believe the story of the golden plates. Amazing how not a trace was left behind, isn't it? Satan has used cults to fool people since the time Jesus walked the Earth. As I said, God isn't going to have his Son born, live, and die, only to have it mean nothing for the next ~1850 years. Do you believe in the divinity of Jesus? Pretty interesting to consider that the Jehovah's witnesses, and Mormons, both were begun in the mid 1800s.
Why would you expect there to be golden plates on earth when Joseph Smith said the angel took them to heaven?
Our testimony, my testimony included, is not based on observation or logic or reason. It is not worldly, and doesn't depend on worldly things. It is based on the manifestation of the Holy Ghost, of which I personally attest.
I believe in the Bible, and the Bible says Jesus is God. So I believe that Jesus is God.
Christians try to say we believe in a false Christ or some such nonsense. We believe in the same Bible you do, without reservation. None of the other revelations we consider doctrine contradict the Bible.
There were a lot of people running around at Jesus' time claiming to be Messiah, as you said. Satan often sends in the counterfeits at the same time God sends in the truth.
keep working and stacking and practicing
there is always time to prepare....until there isn't
even if one started preparing on October 7th, to now, you'd still be ahead of the game, Oh by the way the FBlie, recorded a record applications for gun sales for one day on Black Friday, do ya think folks are finally getting the message that shit's about ready to happen?
Around 2008 I had 'that talk' with some friends.
One told me "when that happens I'm coming to your house." I told her it doesnt work that way. I prep for my family. If you dont care thats your choice, you're on your own.
Another one said if 'they' come I'll pull out my gun.' I said what if they come when youre not home and steal your gun or if there are 10 outside your door all with guns?
I told them once, I did my part. The choice is theirs.
"And, by the way, have you ever considered joining a militia?"
Picture unrelated I guess, because a few cans of fruit, some canned tomatoes, a couple of boxes of pasta etc. won't get you very far :)
My friend's plan is guns and ammo, plus a map of where all of the mormons live.
BUT BITCOIN WILL SAVE ME!!!!
(I've heard a lot of people online say something like this.)
That depends entirely on how things collapse. However, since regardless of what happens or doesn't I'm going to need to eat I'll take 150 cans of Great Value imitation SPAM and 200 pounds of rice over $500, 25 silver coins, or some fraction of a Bitcoin. Food is too cheap to not have laid in at least a years worth. My next goal is 10 years worth.
You can't eat silver, lead or bitcoin.
