I concur. I have consistently noticed over the years that after consuming psilocybin, I'll
experience a several week period of extreme alleviation of both anxiety and depression.
Aside from a possibly "spongey" day after, I also find my public speaking to be more eloquent and witty. Could be because of the anxiety & depression relief, but I feel there's more to it than that.
For a good intro and eye opening, watch “ Fantastic Fungi.”
A lot of vets I know use magic mushrooms to help treat anxiety, ptsd, addiction, end of life issues, pain and depression. Those who’ve lost limbs and suffer from phantom pain report incredible improvement. Many are able to ditch RX meds for mental health issues and experience a lasting sense of well-being and reduced anxiety after even just one trip. The benefits are tremendous for those who use them appropriately and not just to get high. They’re not addictive and the health risks associated are about the same as using marijuana, maybe even less since they’re not smoked. Many, many people report having a spiritual awakening. Also, the brain builds up a tolerance and so they shouldn’t be used frequently. You need at least two weeks between trips for your brain to reset. I’m not advising, condoning or even encouraging illegal drug use but there are some US states and Canada where they’re legal and some research centers can help people if you’re looking for a legal way to use this alternative and what I consider a miraculous substance.
Anyone considering trying them should have a trusted friend, therapist or family member to be a trip sitter or guide.
You hear about some people having “ bad trips” but it all centers around “set and setting” and mindset. You never want to try them in a noisy, over stimulating or dangerous environment. For instance, a lot of young people are introduced to them while at a party or concert. This is the worst possible scenario and they shouldn’t be combined with alcohol or other substances or used in settings where someone could be injured or subjected to something unsafe. Experienced users combine them with meditation, nature and appropriate music. Also, every trip can be considered a learning experience. Anyway, there is a psychedelic renaissance at the moment and has been building over the past several years. Many books, videos and blogs talk about this subject and how miraculous mushrooms are. I’m currently reading The Immortality Key by Brian Muraresku. Just so fascinating.
I just think it’s important to have a designated trip sitter or guide. I’ve seen inexperienced people have anxiety, some temp side effects like nausea or shakiness or get caught up in thought loops and you need someone to redirect or reassure. Again, never condoning illegal substance use.. and also, safety first.
Well dang, I'm a little late to the party here. Micro dosing is good. Macro dosing is good. I just love the things. They do help with depression and anxiety. I too do them a couple of times a year, although I think I would like to do them a bit more often. I won't do them if I haven't had enough sleep, or the house is a mess.
Dmt cured the depression I didn't even know I had. First time I did it. My mood just went up and up for weeks. It was pretty amazing.
All that said, psychedelics are not for everyone. Have a sitter if its your first time. I would not do them alone at night in the forest, but they sure are nice in the forest if there is someone with you. You then realize how alive everything around you is.
In my experience, microdosing range is 0.2-0.5g. I get a noticeable effect from 1.5g and 3g+ is a full on trip. Also depends on the strain and quality.
My experience has only been after I had a spiritual awakening already, so I don't worry about ego death and all that. I do it maybe 1-2 times a year and so far I've taken only a max of 5g which seemed lite for me.
Excellent therapeutic drug that I can see helping those reconnect to the heart/God in the period of healing that's to come.
Big fan of using lemons to speed up the intake process, it can help skip the ramp up that can be nauseating to some.
It's nice you don't get the burnout with psilocybin compared to LSD after a trip.
Citric acid causes the psilocybin to become psilocin, which is the actual molecule that makes you trip. If you just eat the raw mushrooms your stomach acid has to do it and it takes longer. Making the tea and filtering out the mushroom solids prevents nausea.
It’s called “lemon tek” and in addition to what Space_monkey has said, it can help avert the nausea associated with eating the very fibrous mushrooms. Plus, they taste like crap and that alone can cause an unpleasant experience. There are lots of ways to take them. A popular way is in chocolate. Just look up lemon tek for info.
Not a bad idea to have the fridge stocked as well. Food already prepared if you want. Trying to operate your oven is probably not something you wanna tackle while the carpet is moving and the walls are breathing.
It's nature's medicine..people on their deathbeds freaking out did psyilsibin at Johns Hopkins and felt calm..you do shrooms just once and the change will stay with you
It's also free...in the south..spores are in the grass cows eat the grass and shit out spore laden pies...horses do this also...when the cowboys did cattle drives the cows spread them around
Spurred a huge life change for me after a tough breakup a few years back. Quit drinking after years of fighting with it.. has been one of the best things that happened to me. Regular microdosing keeps depression and anxiety away and usually trip a good one couple times a year. Miracle medicine kinda shit.
Made my own for years to microdose instead of ssri. Microdosed for about a year. Didn't notice any difference.
Tripped a whole bunch of times and always lost my damn mind. My thoughts...
good answer & also made me laugh; as someone that’s been lost in a Iowa cornfield…think that’s also a No. cornfields are huge, and if you’re shorter than the corn, can be quite intimidating. can’t imagine being on psychedelics;)
Yeah they are super cheap on the black market. I'm not a huge supporter of psychedelic $cience, though I was hoping it would be more reasonably priced so more people might be able to experience the healing benefits in a more controlled environment. So it goes. Heroic doses seem to be a reliable cure for atheism as well.
Peyote is on the verge of becoming endangered, due to improper and over harvesting by non-indians. San Pedro is a better option if you want to go that route
Some people can't handle some things. I once saw a girl think there were sirens in her head so she called the cops on herself simply after smoking cannabis.
Don't know why you got downvoted. You're right. I used to do heavy psychedelics and it caused temporary insanity and PTSD episodes. In moderation it is okay I would say, just don't abuse it and be very careful.
Oh, no one, but I got really paranoid and I would get aggressive sometimes. It's just not for me. I think psychedelics work different depending on who you are.
A buddy of mine went to Amsterdam for senior trip, genius scored 34 on his act in 10th grade. He went on a 2 week mushroom bender and has never been the same. Now he wanders around Frenchman st. With headphones screaming at the world....
I question that..I've done shrooms since 76 and never did them for two weeks...it wears you out physically cause you've been on a trip..I do them twice a year currently
Sounds like you picked them yourself like I did when I was a teen. Most trips were enlightening, but the last time had me grasping for reality for a while. No way to know how much you're getting when you dump a bunch in the water for tea. Based on my reading, it seems to be very effective for those that have been under extreme shock.
Lots of people love it, and in micro dosing it accomplishes a lot. Like everything, it can be abused. Possibly moderation and use over a period of time is key, and not just used in bigger doses for entertainment sporadically.
Mushrooms made me a better person. Took a few heroic doses and changed my perspective on life. Tried microdosing for about a year as well, I think I saw benefits - but it was mild.
Psilocybin is such an important part of my life. I can't speak highly enough of it. From hilarious trips with friends in my younger days to deep spiritual cleansing more so these days. It's like a reset. Over lockdown when times were stressful with money and family woes on my shoulders, I took a wonderful trip with my brother and woke up the next day a new man.
I am also a fan of micro-dosing. About twice a year works for me. It cures depression I think, or at least greatly helps it.
I concur. I have consistently noticed over the years that after consuming psilocybin, I'll experience a several week period of extreme alleviation of both anxiety and depression.

Is there gas in the car..is there gas in the car?
The door is a jar.
Kek
Set and setting so true..also everyone must trip..no sober people present .also once experienced concerts are awesome..just the right genre

Yes SSRIs essentially block the effects of psilocybin on the brain. They both work on the same receptors.

Glad to help!
I know that they shouldn’t be used with antidepressants, especially SSRIs. For more info

To get started I suffer from PTSD and been microdosing for a couple years now and they have changed my life for the greater

I have never heard of the lemon thing. What do you do specifically to speed up the intake?
Citric acid causes the psilocybin to become psilocin, which is the actual molecule that makes you trip. If you just eat the raw mushrooms your stomach acid has to do it and it takes longer. Making the tea and filtering out the mushroom solids prevents nausea.
Bingo
I'm curious as well...
Chop up 1g or so, cover it with lemon juice or anything citrus I love Satsuma like 2 shots worth let it sit for 30 minutes with a stir and enjoy
🐸❤👌
Fresh juice

Coffee grinder>>steep in warm water. works very well, too.
See below
Not a bad idea to have the fridge stocked as well. Food already prepared if you want. Trying to operate your oven is probably not something you wanna tackle while the carpet is moving and the walls are breathing.
Lol, good advice🐸
Yes
Ever hear of the stoned ape theory?
Yup, how do you think we invented Christmas?
https://youtu.be/Xz_JZJkqsEc?si=OYVNevz7X0P0-ymJ
That's a different shroom
Beneficial to the charactors of its followers
What do you mean by that?
It's nature's medicine..people on their deathbeds freaking out did psyilsibin at Johns Hopkins and felt calm..you do shrooms just once and the change will stay with you
Psilocybin spores can survive the vaccum of space..and reentry
Special right?
Possibly sent here
Great explanation btw
Yes forever change but in a good way IMO
Of course
Yup, mind blowing
They sell them over the counter in cali weed stores...made their way to ohio too
It's also free...in the south..spores are in the grass cows eat the grass and shit out spore laden pies...horses do this also...when the cowboys did cattle drives the cows spread them around
It’s wonderful, from tripping major ballsack to micro-dosing. If it’s used correctly, it can also have major mental health benefits.
Kinda like the opposite of what msn told us
I don’t know what they told us, but yes most likely
You will go crazy..you won't come back.you will want to jump off blds and your chromosomes will be damaged
Can we go back to oldschool weed vs new gmo?
Spurred a huge life change for me after a tough breakup a few years back. Quit drinking after years of fighting with it.. has been one of the best things that happened to me. Yep.
Made my own for years to microdose instead of ssri. Microdosed for about a year. Didn't notice any difference. Tripped a whole bunch of times and always lost my damn mind. My thoughts...
...that hippy bullshit doesn't work.
Eat a heroic five grams in the woods alone..you will sit in the lap of god
Flyover country woods are safe..water bad.idea..mirrors freaky too
good answer & also made me laugh; as someone that’s been lost in a Iowa cornfield…think that’s also a No. cornfields are huge, and if you’re shorter than the corn, can be quite intimidating. can’t imagine being on psychedelics;)
I've done dmt 5 times. I shit 5 grams for breakfast
God/spirit molecule
Life is deep😃
It truly is. Went to the light and saw the temple and elves, the went to the pit and saw demons all in the same journey...my last one
Kek..done dmt also..would love to go down to rythmia in costa rico
GAW trip to Costa Rico - somebody take the lead and post trip info on Weekly Chat!
Kek just finished off my 2g lemon kek
Penis envy btw
Tried microdosing. Turned up the volume on my tinnitus substantially. Not good.
Damn I haven't heard this
Shrooms are cute. Some pure lucy in the sky will really sort things out for you!
A gift from the Creator. The rollout of psilocybin therapy in Oregon has been a disaster, $2500+ for one therapeutic journey
Seems like you can purchase that out there...in cali 35 a quarter ounce
Yeah they are super cheap on the black market. I'm not a huge supporter of psychedelic $cience, though I was hoping it would be more reasonably priced so more people might be able to experience the healing benefits in a more controlled environment. So it goes. Heroic doses seem to be a reliable cure for atheism as well.
Yes!....it's good to have someone there to guide you..
And some good 420
Yes to take the edge off
About 200 oz for PEs or anything home grown here in tx
How bought that peyote farm down there...know any indians..they can buy
Peyote is on the verge of becoming endangered, due to improper and over harvesting by non-indians. San Pedro is a better option if you want to go that route
Name checks out..kek..that farm in tx is the only legal grow in usa..they care for and cultivate it
England sells cactus plants but won't ship over here
That's a shame
It has potential therapeutically. When used recreationally it makes you temporarily insane.
Have you ever done psychedelics?...doesn't sound like it
Some people can't handle some things. I once saw a girl think there were sirens in her head so she called the cops on herself simply after smoking cannabis.
I speak from experience, yes.
Absolutely a dual edged sword.
It is Serious medicine..not for everyone
Don't know why you got downvoted. You're right. I used to do heavy psychedelics and it caused temporary insanity and PTSD episodes. In moderation it is okay I would say, just don't abuse it and be very careful.
Who diagnosed you
I have ptsd from assault.
No the crazy part
Oh, no one, but I got really paranoid and I would get aggressive sometimes. It's just not for me. I think psychedelics work different depending on who you are.
Everyone reacts differently to shrooms, definitely use only when you are in a positive mindset.
A buddy of mine went to Amsterdam for senior trip, genius scored 34 on his act in 10th grade. He went on a 2 week mushroom bender and has never been the same. Now he wanders around Frenchman st. With headphones screaming at the world....
True story
I question that..I've done shrooms since 76 and never did them for two weeks...it wears you out physically cause you've been on a trip..I do them twice a year currently
Kek no worries and he most likely or maybe dabbled in some other things in Amsterdam.
And no ds at all but I'm talking 2x week usually iver here
Sounds like you picked them yourself like I did when I was a teen. Most trips were enlightening, but the last time had me grasping for reality for a while. No way to know how much you're getting when you dump a bunch in the water for tea. Based on my reading, it seems to be very effective for those that have been under extreme shock.
yup.
Lots of people love it, and in micro dosing it accomplishes a lot. Like everything, it can be abused. Possibly moderation and use over a period of time is key, and not just used in bigger doses for entertainment sporadically.
Ideally it should be done spiritually..alone in nature...although I did them recreationally also...Dead shows Phish shows
I knew this would be fun
Mushrooms made me a better person. Took a few heroic doses and changed my perspective on life. Tried microdosing for about a year as well, I think I saw benefits - but it was mild.
Big fan but i can never seem to get it lately
Psilocybin is such an important part of my life. I can't speak highly enough of it. From hilarious trips with friends in my younger days to deep spiritual cleansing more so these days. It's like a reset. Over lockdown when times were stressful with money and family woes on my shoulders, I took a wonderful trip with my brother and woke up the next day a new man.
1/4 bag and a Black Sabbath concert changed a lot of things.
