I think it is of no consequence to our faith. The Bible and Jesus are the story of Gods relationship with Humans. If God created other creations on other planets it does not take away from Gods relationship with us as humans.
Agreed. If God wants to do "X" then God may very well in His own right do "X." God doesn't need to pass it by me first in order to let's say, create life millions of lightyears away in this vast incredible universe He spoke into existence. It's like finding a Jellyfish and saying "well God didn't tell me he created THIS one!" and getting mad about it.
Belief in the Trinity is a requirement to be a Christian. How can there be a Trinity if there is a savior for every alien species that God supposedly created? Unless of course Jesus Christ goes to every alien world and appears to them as they appear. But then Jesus Christ isn't fully God and fully Man. He's fully God, fully Man, and fully Martian.
It just doesn't work.
Well, now you're getting into the extra terrestrials having souls and needing salvation because they have fallen. That again, because I don't know 100% yes or no, falls completely into God's realm and I'm not going to chastise the thought simply out of fear of mocking God if for instance He has Christians millions of light years away on another planet. It doesn't minimize what Jesus did for us, and God doesn't have to check in with me to make sure what He's doing is able to be processed in my small insignificant brain.
I really think it's a non issue in the grand scheme because we are simply unable to do anything about it if it were true or false.
Space has always been mesmerizing to me and it will never cease to amaze me how beautiful and amazing it is out there.
Reasonable enough, fren.
I mean, on the one hand, I want to argue that we can know truth and should declare it for the glory of God, but on the other hand, I'd be remiss to argue against you simply reserving judgement to not step on God's toes, as if that's a bad thing or something kek
I also love space, if you couldn't tell by my name ;).
Likewise, I suppose some of my ironically hostile argumentation towards many things space related recently may be a result of all the lies told and deceit by the cabal. Hard to just enjoy the thing I love when there's a concern over a co-opting of it by evil people for their evil goals.
“….is a requirement to be a Christian.”
😂
There’s a creed. A profession of faith. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in it. There are also numerous Pauline references to what’s required to believe and profess Christianity. The Trinity is fundamental to Christianity.
For an interesting take; Dr Michael Heiser speaks knowledgeably on “The Divine Council”. He also wrote some science fiction type novels featuring “aliens”. Good stuff.
Jesus Christ did not write the bible and Jesus did not found Christianity.
The Roman Empire founded the church and was in control of what was allowed in the bible.
This is poppycock.
Council of Nicaea. 325 AD.
That was for the Catholic Church, The true church existed before and still exists today apart from the Catholic Church. If the catholic church would be the only church and the true church then there would be any scripture whatsoever authorizing such an organization but I read 0 entries in the New (or old) testament regarding the pope and it would be impossible to have the catholic church without the pope.
You mean the council where Emporer Constantine opened up by making himself subordinate to the bishops?
Let's straighten this out.
The councils didn't decide on a whim what books should be in the canon. Instead, they more or less recognized and affirmed what was already widely accepted and used by Christian communities.
Think of it like this: The councils weren't picking books out of thin air. They looked at what most Christians across various regions were already considering authoritative and divinely inspired. It's more like a ratification process than a selection process.
So, the councils didn't play a "Let's choose random books" game. They were more like, "Hey, these books are already being read and respected by the majority of Christians. Let's make it official."
Since you don't explain why I have to assume that you're just triggered.
The comment I’m responding to offered no evidence/explantion for their assertions.
Matt. 16:15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
I love this exchange have you ever done a word study on it? Petra vs Petros. Peter (Petros) means small rock or piece of stone the "Rock" his confession (Petra) is a massive boulder. Peter goes on to be a wonderful man save for denying Christ but everyone of them forsook Him. However this verse does not confirm Peter in a position above any of the other disciples / apostles at the time. But merely the power in Confessing Jesus as Christ and all that comes with it: belief, repentance, and baptism.
Yeah, no. If anything the councils that determined what books were inspired and which were not excluded many false books that were known Roman Empire creations meant to cause division among the Christians. Now people call these “the lost books” but they were never lost, they were known frauds even AT THE TIME. If the Romans were in control they would have included such books.
