Our Federal Government cannot legitimately establish any laws against "insurrection" or "rebellion" because the government is subject to the will of the people, and not the other way around. The Civil War was the cabal violating another founding principle. The principle of each State being an independent Sovereign body in a voluntary confederation of States.

So, in effect, President Trump cannot be prevented from running for the reasons they are trying to use. The 14th Amendment is void because it violates the very charter of the document it is intended to amend.
