I think Vivek bent the knee a long time ago, and has been Trump's battering ram and assassin the whole time. Now that he helped deliver a massive landslide in Iowa, and huge momentum more broadly, Trump invites him on the train piblicly and is probably vetting him for VP or cabinet.
Trump never did any debates, but Vivek tore them up and used those events and every possible social media and podcast outlet sell America First, tie that concept to Trump, and defend Trump at every turn. Vivek used his own $, which Trump can trust. Don't forget, Vivek and Trump are both authors and voracious readers, and Vivek's ideas in his books are not secrets.
