That's exactly what he did. They even had Paxton tied up with a fake impeachment trial so he couldn't start the fight with DC. Notice that absolutely nothing happened until Paxton won his impeachment case. Add to that, Abbott was the AG before Paxton so he knew what needed to be done and how to do it. He just chose not to do anything.
But it is not an election year for him. He isn't up again until 2026.
Believe me - I am not a superfan of Abbott. I was a few years ago but then I watched him on COVID and the border. I will however vote for him 100/100 over BETA.
You could very well be correct fren. The only reason that Abbott won reelection was because we weren't sure if his opponents in the primary could defeat the democrat in the general election. The democrat in question was none other than Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke so it was WAY too big of a risk to take.
I can say this for Abbott. He was our attorney general before he was our governor and he did a great job. It is entirely possible that the white hats have him under their control. Just more food for thought so to speak.

It's very possible that's what he is trying to do but I'm confident things would be prevented from getting that far. So long as the Feds have to show their asses by forcefully occupying that park they take a huge public loss. All we need to do is hold out until they do that. It's not like the overall flow of illegals is changing much because of that one park.
