Got a quick medical question.
Anyone else here suffer from thick mucus building up in your lungs? If so, what supplements have you found that takes care of it.
It's gotten so thick in my lungs before that felt like I was choking and it's currently making it hard to even draw a full breath a lot of the time.
There’s several popular Chinese medicine herbal supplements brands for cough. Search herbal supplement capsules for cough. Figure out if you have a dry or wet cough. It makes a difference treating with herbs. Be sure the mucus is coming from your lungs before treating. I’ve had a terrible cough from a virus for over a week. I thought it was in my lungs because I’m coughing us lots of phlegm and I had a rattle in my chest. My daughter is a nurse and listened to my chest and it’s clear. It’s coming from post nasal drip and a sinus infection. From the start it started pooling at base of my throat. Diffusing essential oils or using an inhaler probably would help but it’s something you have to do daily. If you aren’t familiar with essential oils only buy from reputable brands with the quality testing on there site. Most good companies has helpful information. You can get handheld inhaler online.
I’m taking this I read these ingredients help clear mucus. You can buy from other places than amazon.

I was waking up feeling like I was choking and drowning. Twice at the ER, I was told I had pneumonia even though I had no other symptoms or sickness. At the third ER visit, I was told it was being caused by GERD...stomach acid was washing up my esophagus, eustacian tubes (causing hearing loss), and into my lungs. My body made lots of mucus to protect and counteract the acid damage. I took Mucus ER by Equate brand, and within minutes, the mucus cleared up, but my throat was so sore and raw...it needed the mucus. You might have GERD/ acid reflux. I didn't want long term meds or surgery, so I try to stay away from triggers (tomato, citrus, caffeine, etc) and sleep with my upper body elevated on wedge cushions. There's an exercise I do to push the stomach back down through the hole in the diaphragm (hiatal hernia), and it gives great relief abiet short lived. First thing in the morning, drink a glass of warm water to relax and weight down the stomach. Stand on your tippy toes, with arms outstretched to the sides, at shoulder level (Jesus on the cross pose). Bend elbows to bring pointer fingers to nose, and slam hard down on your heels several times in a row. You should feel the diaphragm relax and breathe better.
NAC , I used to get chronic bronchitis (I was a smoker) and after a bout of pnuemonia years ago, the doctor put me on it, and I have to say I have not suffered a lung issue in years. Mucus build up is a sign of inflammation, it's the bodies way of protecting tissue and trapping dusts, molds and pollens. The NAC fights the inflammation. Something is irritating your lungs, if you have that much mucus. Try an inflammation free diet and eliminate gluten and dairy for awhile, and take the NAC, 1,200 mgs a day.
I just listened to a lady yesterday that suggested going gluten free to rid the body of mucus. She said a fruit fast would help detox the mucus from your body. Eat mostly water based fruit for your meals. She said complete fasting was best, but the fruit fast was very good as well.
Do you know if NAC can help thin mucus? Besides the amount, my problem has been the thick consistency of it. Instead of it being thin like the consistency of oil, it's more akin to goop of some kind. I take generic muscinex, and it helps, but not enough.
The problem seems to be seasonal and connected with certain allergens like ragweed and mold and tends to spike after a front blows in.
Try flushing your sinus out daily, morning and night, with the NeilMed sinus rinse squirt bottle. Has made a great difference in my allergies. Discovered I had to take a shower every single night after being outside, or the allergens would get on my bed covers. Even if I had already taken a shower mid-day. The allergens did not come off my hair with only water, had to use shampoo to get them out.
Also, for some reason, after I started taking ivermectin sporadically, my winter allergies have greatly subsided, didn't even have to take Allegra-D last winter or this, first time in over 12-15 years.
How often do you take ivermectin and have you found an inexpensive source for the regular pills?
Being able to take the human type medicine would be preferred if it's not too expensive, though I have taken the horse paste quite a few times in the past. I'm just not fond of the flavor ... But then again, who is besides horses?
drink drink drink water, steam, boil a pot of water and take a towel and cover your head while breathing steam, but really hydrate too.
Not always the best at it, but I do try to stay hydrated.
I've lived with the issue of overly thick phlegm most of my life, but after being in environments with mold and absurd amounts of aerial spraying (as well as stress), my lungs took a bit of a hit and it has gotten worse.
I've just ordered some colloidal silver and some nasal spray bottles so I can hopefully cut down on the inflammation and encourage natural healing.
hard to go wrong with NAC.
also, OP cut back on processed sugar as much as possible.
I'm no doctor but if I had to guess, that phlegm is your body's way of protecting your lungs from something that's being brought into them.
