An Austin-based law firm specializing in wildfire damage filed a lawsuit in Hemphill County last week, alleging that an Xcel Energy line initiated the Smokehouse Creek fire north of Stinnett.
Nothing worth a shit comes out of Austin, Texas. I'd rather see the folks in the area set up their own investigation with some patriot firm. The Austin turds will likely sell out or be there just to run cya operations.
The whole reason state capitals were separated from economic centers of power way back when was so that political centers of power had buffers between them and commerce, and vice versa.
Austin being a tech center is bad.
Truly good things rarely come out of political power centers.
On Thursday, utility company Xcel Energy acknowledged that its equipment likely played a role in igniting the Smokehouse Creek fire.
BlackRock submitted a 13G/A form to the SEC, disclosing ownership of 49.88 million shares of Xcel Energy Inc (XEL) in 2023, representing a 9.1% stake in the company. Following BlackRock, Vanguard and JP Morgan Chase are the next largest shareholders.
Xcel stated it is cooperating with local law enforcement investigations.

Xcel Energy attributes the incident to a faulty pole, although it's noted that high winds can also occasionally cause power lines to spark, leading to wildfires.
I wish they had included State Street in this lawsuit. Blackrock, Vanguard, & State Street all own shares of each other so they are all involved if one is involved. You have to sue all 3 of them to make it hurt.
Not buying it. They were forced to admit this but not sure why or who is forcing them. We know who and what the real culprits are, same as Lahaina.๐คฌ๐ฅ
"Oops! We accidentally pushed the wrong button.
Well, since its a total loss, the least we can do for ya'll, is to buy up that land and get another city goin for all you good, unfortunate folks.
In fact, as a bonus gift to you, we'll make it so revitalized that you won't even need to go more than 15 minutes to get whatever you need.
Sorry 'bout all that ๐"
