Man is inherently sinful. We all need the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Dr. King was a Republican. That’s why they got rid of him and had Jesse Jackson in the wings ready to take over. I still remember his interview that night with Rev. King’s blood on his shirt.
Have read net articles in past stating King was a Communist. Don't know whether that is true or not. Obviously he was a threat to the power structure, so he was taken out. King's absence created a void that Jackson stepped into. When Obama won in 2008, Jackson was filmed with tears in his eyes.
The government and the media used the Communist label to try to discredit King. King was conservative in his values and believed in Capitalism which he wanted Black Americans to be able to take advantage of.
as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
I don’t think it’s necessarily even vast quantities of power and wealth. More like vast quantities of either make already existing character flaws more readily apparent. That and the source of Society’s modern ‘Elite’.
The aristocracy and Nobility of centuries past.
Have largely been supplanted as the ‘Elite’ by Corporate Leaders and a Wealthy Business class. The Problem arises that the Corporate Leaders and Businessmen who rise to command the vast fortunes of 10s of Billions of not trillions tend towards either being, or at the very least displaying Sociopathic, Psychopathic, and Narcissistic Tendencies and Behavior. Granted it’s not impossible for a Good Individual to rise to such lofty heights. Trump being a prime example. Just substantially more unlikely.
As Sociopaths, Narcissists, and Psychopaths are generally more likely to display the character traits that are likely to lead to wild financial success. Or at the very least being easily manipulated by the financially wealthy. They won’t quibble over ethical and moral concerns as they are ultimately out for themselves. They won’t care about screwing over coworkers, friends, or even family.
We replaced the previous Aristocracy Elite. Who at the very least had to maintain pretenses of following notions of personal honor, responsibility etc. And by virtue of being Nobility largely tied to a handful of nations at best. Generally had personal fortunes subject to various limitations.
With people who command networks of Multinational Corporations. And quite literally brag about buying and selling Governments. And Can command the resources of entire continents. And have the wealth to subvert or kill almost anyone.
And it’s not like we could easily revert to any previous system. As the years have seen the Banking and Corporate Class. Subvert or eliminate the remnants of the Aristocracy and landed nobility who weren’t on board.
And many of the current public alternative systems or isms while we haven’t seen them truly put into practice. Are unlikely to gain any particularly warm reception with the population at large. Either due to unsavory associations gained over the years. Or they are so vague and ill defined most of the proponents can’t clearly explain what they are advocating outside of generalities. ‘No Taxes’, ‘Decentralization’ etc.
Whatever the new system or ism the world eventually adopts or creates looks like. It’s fairly likely it’s going to have it’s own crop of ‘Elites’ rise to prominence. Hopefully from a new source then previous attempts
The potential for the formation of large Corporations is an outgrowth of Capitalism. You can’t have one without at least the possibility of the other. Rothschild, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Vanderbilt, Ford, Walton etc. They started as small businesses. Small stores, Foundries, Small Banks etc. They expanded and grew their influence. Deals opening new locations. Buying out/Eliminating competition. Marketing themselves. Etc. All within the remits of Capitalism and Economic Practice. At what point then does it transition away from Capitalism?
Corporations aren’t even inherently the issue. The problem ultimately comes down to how the current business world is constructed. It’s set up for the unethical, psychotic and immoral lunatics with delusions of grandeur to be the ones most likely to be wildly successful.
"You can make the Ring into an allegory of our own time, if you like: and allegory of the inevitable fate that waits for all attempts to defeat evil power by power" (The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, 1995, p. 121.)
"Power is an ominous and sinister word in all these tales" (p. 152.)
"The story is cast in terms of a good side, and a bad side, beauty against ruthless ugliness, tyranny against kingship, moderated freedom with consent against compulsion that has long lost any object save mere power, and so on" (pp. 178-179.)
"In my story Sauron represents as near an approach to the wholly evil will as is possible. He had gone the way of all tyrants: beginning well, at least on the level that while desiring to order all things according to his own wisdom he still at first considered the (economic) well-being of other inhabitants of Earth. But he went further than human tyrants in pride and the lust for domination, being in origin an immortal (angelic) spirit" (p. 243.)
Read the article and you will understand that using power to defeat evil power leads to disaster, because it is the power itself that is the evil.

Separate of any arguments on King, man is inherently sinful, not inherently good.
It takes the grace of God and a lot of work to be able to handle power and wealth responsibly.
Ayup! The left killed him and then used him as a symbol of hate whitey.
Bible actually indicates man is inherently evil.

Was MLK a sacrifice for 'The Greater Hood'?

Corporations aren't Capitalism, they are communism, and we have been paying the price for over a century.

This 2002 article really speak wisely to the evils of power.
LoTR was an allegory on the subject.
Tolkien v. Power
Says Tolkien:
"You can make the Ring into an allegory of our own time, if you like: and allegory of the inevitable fate that waits for all attempts to defeat evil power by power" (The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, 1995, p. 121.)

I used to believe the same.
But now I just realize you have to be somewhat of a sociopath, or even a psychopath, to become that filthy rich.
Cradle to grave you can't count to 1B...
Trump didnt
Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I don't mean to be confrontational.
But what about Trump?
He's the most powerful man in the world, and there was a post recently about how he's richer than ever.
I saw Tony Robbins say, "Money doesn't change you; it magnifies your [true] nature."
Basically, if you're evil, you will use the money for more evil.
If you're good, you'll use the money for more good.
Money is like looking into a Palantir, gotta be strong to resist Sauron.
Ah.
edit: That's a good way of describing it.
