I use Telegram daily. Like any social media, there are imposter accounts posing as others, and they donβt have a verification system like the blue check marks on X, so you have to be careful that youβre following the correct person.
TG is the least censored platform on the web. It's great for Q and truther channels.
Though I still cant figure out how on earth to attract followers on it. Seems like you start a channel and then idk how do people know you're there because it doesn't have feeds or algo like the other social media platforms do. It's really hard to start a channel in my experience
Telegram was one of the only platforms, besides Gab and Parler (lol), that wasn't being censored due to covid and 2020 election fraud - word of mouth spread fast in 2020/2021.
Yes, I used it for a while but then I realized it was storing over a GB of data on my phone and there was some big issue about putting data on people's phones IIRC.
I liked this interview and didn't realize he had to leave Russia because he wouldn't bow to their censorship demands.
I'm a little torn. The fact is Google and Apple are far worse and they control the app stores and most mobile phones in the world. So maybe Telegram is worth considering again for me.
Most of the data is temporary cache files, unless you download manually yourself. Telegram has much better storage control in the app now, where you can set specific limits on pictures, videos, auto-downloading, based on how much free space you have available.
In any case, having Telegram or not won't matter in the case of privacy - intelligence agencies will have backdoors into our phones regardless of what specific apps we use, they'll just have to jump thru another hoop or two. Just depends on what content a person wants to follow.
With Musk buying Twitter and the Reformation of it as a platform, the "need" for Telegram not like it was a couple years ago. It's a nice option to have, though.
Be careful who you follow anywhere not just on Twitter. The same people would Twitter was the only source ignored the fact that Twitter had (has) a bad problem with many bad things.

As do I. If you use discernment, you will discover some great things on TG.
Telegram I feel like might have a worse bot problem than X used to have.
He is a young global leader in the WEF. I donβt trust him.
came here to say this. it's a useful app, but still being monitored and skewed by the overrullers
Donβt trust telegram. If they contacted one of his employees to code a backdoor for the government, you think they would only stop at one employee?

I have it installed on PC and removed from phone after activating it.
Ever since RDoc said the app could compromise your phone I haven't even touched it. Why did you remove it?
I had to install it on phone to set up the account.
Once I had an account and installed the PC version, I was able to uninstall the app from my phone.
Phone app takes up way too much space so I nuked it.
If I install a new OS or get a new computer, will have to install it on phone just for the activation process and then will be able to remove again.
i installed it on the PC without the phone.

I'm thinking you may need a multipronged approach. Multiple channels that reference each other, similar to how Tucker used X to push his TG channel.
Also, it forces word to spread by actual word of mouth, which is free advertising.
I noticed Pavel say they have spent zero dollars on advertising. Yet they have hundreds of millions of users. That's because of "word of mouth."

i guess lol
Telegram is a great platform. Been using it for years.
Telegram is the best place for accurate news. You just have to find the right channels.
